AnotherChristmasEve,

It was another morning, but unlike other mornings when I wake up to a
cool environment, and half-dead nostrils, I could smell the various aromas
wafting in the atmosphere including the sweet smell of chocolate pudding being
prepared downstairs (definitely not my mum’s, because hers produces a choking
smell rather than a pleasant and mouth-watering scent),all depicting the
festivities.

I headed downstairs trying to trace the direction of the aroma that got me
out of bed and as I expected, the house had been heavily decorated with
different gifts placed under the gigantic Christmas tree, all wrapped up
beautifully and not to be opened until Christmas morning.

I got to the kitchen and my suspicions were confirmed, I met our house help Clara busy with the breakfast preparation, all sweaty and moving from one end of the kitchen to another. She acknowledged me with a small smile and continued with her stirring.

I left the kitchen a bit disappointed as I had hoped I would be wrong
about my suspicions this time. Lost in thoughts, I bumped into Lubbock, our
butler(a constant pain in the neck). He informed me that my parents had left for
their festive business meets, as always. This didn’t register any bit of surprise.

I needed to go out of my familiar environs because I was yet again
surrounded by strangers, just like every other holiday, the whole Christmas
formalities was beginning to suck, so I decided to take a walk downtown which
is sure to be lively and bursting with energy (who knows, their Christmas spirit
could rub off on me as well and I would feel the same positive energy coursing
through me as well)
