The room was silent, the air was suffocating almost as if there was a thick layer of fog in the air. Making you take an unstable breath. Your lungs felt heavy ready to collapse any moment. You wanted to throw up, all you wanted to do was go home and stay in your room away from everything. But you couldn't, you couldn't move. If you did everything would end, there is nothing left for you to do but this.
You have to keep your head up straight and have good posture. You have to do it, you can't show imperfections. Or else they'll treat you like a dog, having a collar over your neck. Making you do everything for them, while they just stare down at you. You despised that sensation, the feeling where you would never be alone. Someone would always be supervising you. Waiting for you to mess up, then use it against you.
You can't let them think that about you, you will be better than them. No, you already are. They are simply stepping pebbles for you to be free. You don't need them, they always need you after all. They are not capable to do anything without you.
The odor of wood would soon reach your nose, not too strong but enough for you to tell the smell. It made you feel calm. It was so refreshing. Using your other hand, you craved small shapes with your nail on the wooden table.
"As Most know we don't have any leads on The Hero Society, soon they'll be taking over us leaving us to decay knowing that the world is filled with rats. They are only preventing us from getting rid of those rats, the rats that are causing the world to be a troubled place."
"We have just obtained a note from our 'friend' that the number one hero will be instructing the students at UA. What better strategy than to take him down directly!?"
"You can't let this opportunity go now can you?!" You could tell the figure was smirking, his words filled with venom.
"He's losing his strength there is a matter of time when he'll be so vulnerable even our youngest fighter would be able to exterminate him."
You had a feeling, a feeling that something was going to happen to you. Something you know you would never forget. That crawling feeling again, the feeling that whatever happens is your fault.
"Y/n..."
You felt your head hurting, you wanted to scream. You lifted your head feeling a cold dry hand on your face gliding down your chin. Making you have chills down your spine, the room was too dim for you to see anything. Making you depend on the feeling of the cold finger on your skin the only thing you had the power of.
"My exquisite piece of work..."
No
"I've worked so hard to make you better for this moment..."
"It's your turn to shine..."
You just wanted to be normal.
"It's your turn to show me what you are capable of doing, you can now show me why I shouldn't toss you out."
No, please
"You will be doing this assignment..."
Why me?
"You will be attending U.A high as a typical student. Providing us all the information you can uncover."
Why does it always fall onto my hands?
"Anything you find will be reported directly to me."
"And if you fail to do so..." You felt a warm liquid roll down your cheek to your neck. Close to your eyes. The sharp pain hits you. It was a deep cut, enough for you to shed a single tear.
"You will be decomposed and utilized for promising trophies."
"You have to be better."
"Meaning you'll never be free..."
"So it's not easy for people to get rid of you."
You felt a shift of the cold hand now on your hair twirling it, playing with the lifeless ends of it. Then a cold breeze on your ear. Now whispering into your ear. Making you start trembling, you just longed to be able to live like other people.
"You do want to be free? Right?"
All you could do in answer was nod your head gradually and burst into tears more tears, making them all roll down your eyes, your lips in a slim line shivering. That was all you dared to do, you couldn't say yes or no. Because deep down you knew, in the end, you wouldn't get what you truly wanted all your life. No matter how much someone promises you. You would never live happily. This was the end of you.
This was the end of your freedom.
"That's all you ever wished for."
"If you do this for me you can finally be normal."
What is normal anymore, will I ever truly be normal?
Will I ever feel like I belong somewhere?
"After all..."
I'm just so exhausted,
"You are the strongest."
So exhausted that I'm still hoping that I can be normal.
"Right?"
Still thinking I can, this false hope will be the end of me. And everyone around me.
