I nodded at him and stumbled to my room, using the wall as a guide before blindly pulling my jeans off and flopping onto the bed. But I didn't sleep for long before I woke to the driest mouth ever. I groaned and pushed myself out of bed and back out to the kitchen. I didn't bother turning on any lights as I went, just shuffled down the hall with my eyes still half closed.
God, why did I think vodka would have been a good choice to drink? I always felt like trash after vodka.
I found the fridge and opened it before fishing for a water bottle. I cracked the seal and chugged a bit of it, sighing when I finally pulled the bottle from my lips.
There was a subtle cough behind me, and my eyes widened, making me whirl around to find Dimitri sitting at the island in the dark.
"Oh. Hi," I squeaked, cheeks flushing in embarrassment when I realized I was in a t-shirt and my underwear. I shifted and tugged down the hem of my shirt to cover myself more, but it was futile. It barely covered my ass when I wore it with jeans.
"Hi. Can't sleep or hangover starting in?" Dimitri asked with a smirk.
"I needed a trough of water," I replied, "how about you?"
Dimitri shrugged, his eyes wandering for a second before reaching me. That slight wander made my skin boil. "My body still wants to be awake at night," he said. I nodded like a bobblehead, which didn't help the headache that was starting to make its presence known.
"Well, I'm not wearing any pants, so... I'm going back to bed," I said grabbing another water bottle from the fridge.
Dimitri nodded and listed the mug he had in front of him. "Not like I haven't seen it before," he mumbled into his mug.
"What?"
"Nothing, sleep well Rose. We have a big day tomorrow," he backtracked, smiling at me with a slight twinkle in his eye. I looked at him with raised brows before letting it go and going back to bed.

I felt nervous, probably more nervous than Dimitri did. I was nervous for Holly really, but I was nervous that the talk might set her back. Dimitri turned and looked at me as I sat in the driver's seat, staring out the window.
"Are you okay?"
I looked over at him and nodded. "Yeah, just out of it today," I said with a sigh.
Dimitri nodded before pointing to the clock with a smile. "Well, you're going to be late for work."
I snorted and rolled my eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Let's go," I said getting out of the car.
"While you're here, you will need to wear a visitors badge, and be prepared that some of the kids can get really rowdy," I explained as we climbed the steps of the home. Dimitri nodded and went through the motions with me of getting signed in and getting his badge. It didn't take long and we headed in.
The kids were just finishing breakfast when we came in, a few of them turning to say good morning and starring at Dimitri. I chuckled and bumped his shoulder before heading towards Holly.
"Hey kido, how are you doing this morning?"
Holly looked up at me with her big blue eyes and shrugged. "I'm okay. Who's that?" she said quietly, tilting her chin up towards Dimitri. I smiled at her and pulled the chair out from beside and sank down on the chair.
"That is my good friend, Dimitri. He and you have a lot in common, and I thought that maybe you and he could talk. If you are up to that," I explained gently, smiling at Dimitri before smiling back at her.
