"W-Where am I...?" I scan the surrounding area, but nothing seems familiar. Focusing my eyes on the glowing entity in front of me, I squint and realise its a person... with wings..?
"What sort of fever.. dream is.. this..?" I mumble incoherently.

"You, child, have no need to be afraid."

The voice rang out in the desolate place. "You are safe... for now. Be wary of your future, and heed the past."

"Future...past.. safe..?" I mutter under my breath, half-happy, half-dazed. My body feels so heavy and sleepy, and I peer up to see the glowing person fade away.

"W-Wait!! Who are you, and w-why am I here!!??"

Voice spreading to every corner of this lonesome land, I received silence. The deep throaty voice had left me..clueless.

"Raven...Raven!! You're okay...!!"

Eyes drifting open, the first thing I see is Maddies worried face, tears streaming down her cheeks. I seemed to be in the Nurse's office, and by the looks of it, laying down on one of the hard, uncomfortable beds.

"Ow.... what happened..?"

As hard as I tried, I could not remember anything to do with how I ended up here. "Youweretalkingtomeandsuddenlyyoufaintedsonowyouarehereand-" Her mouth was blabbering so fast I couldn't understand a word she was saying, and to make it worse, my head felt dizzy and weak from the bright obnoxious light blinding my eyes.

"Hold on.. hold on.. say that again.. but slower.." Pushing myself so I was leaning against the pillows, I listened to Maddie explain it all over again, but slower.

After a couple of minutes of the Nurse making sure i was okay, me and Maddie finally left, and headed to English.

Ever since I appeared in that bright room... everything's been changing... I no longer feel like myself... like somethings been taken from me...

Only until I heard someone yelp in pain had I not realised that I was squeezing Maddies shoulder so hard it was going bright red. Letting go, I twisted myself over to her with a shocked-terrified look on my face, her rubbing and holding her arm to see if it was bruised.

I went to touch her shoulder.

"I'm s-so sorry.. I don't know what came o-over me.." I had never seen Maddie this angry and upset before, and as I was about to clasp her shoulder, she let go of her arm and stormed off.

I was close to tears. She had never done anything like this before. But then again, neither had I.

'ℑ𝔱'𝔰 𝔫𝔬𝔱 𝔶𝔬𝔲𝔯 𝔣𝔞𝔲𝔩𝔱..'

A voice in my head struggled to spit out the words.

'𝔜𝔬𝔲.. 𝔰𝔥𝔬𝔲𝔩𝔡.. 𝔨𝔦𝔩𝔩.. 𝔥𝔢𝔯..'

The voice again, but this time, I was so shocked by what the voice said that I told myself to shut up and I carried on walking to class.
