Oh Brother, Where Art Thou

Two days after the incident at Lesli's college the girls were no closer to figuring out what to do about the microchips, but on the bright side Lesli had agreed to talk to them so the girls went over to Mona's where they would meet her

"Where's Lesli?" Lily asked when she walked into Mona's room and only saw Mona, Spencer, Hanna, and Aria 

"Probably got eaten by one of her rats." Hanna sighed

Mona's phone buzzed so she pulled it out to read her text "Oh, Lesli just texted me. She said she's made a lot of progress with her stability and she thinks that this sort of confrontation might set her back." 

"Unbelievable!" Spencer scoffed 

"Tell her to get her ass over here or I'll show her a confrontation." Lily added 

"Come on. Field trip." Aria said and grabbed her bag "Lesli knows who Charles is, and you know where that bitch lives. Let's go."

"No one's going anywhere." Mona said "Lesli isn't lying. That girl is one lost marble away from a major breakdown. Look, I-I swear, Lesli doesn't know anything else. If she did, she would tell me, and I would tell you."

"The night that Bethany and Charles escaped from Radley you were with Alison. Ali told us." Spencer said to her "You picked her up on the side of the road. You took her to the Lost Woods. So maybe you saw somebody. Some guy who could have been Charles."

"I wish that I did, but no, I didn't see anybody else." Mona said

"What about at Radley?" Aria asked "Someone you talked to stole the A game from you while you were there. That is what you said." 

"I-I know I did, but I was on so many drugs. I didn't even know who I was talking to." she said "I mean, half the time, I thought I was being haunted by Ali, the other half of the time I thought I was auditioning for "American Idol.""

The girls all shared a hopeless look and left Mona's house. Lily went home to walk Teddy before she decided to meet Spencer and Hanna at the Brew where she found Hanna staring at her laptop

"Hey" She sighed and sat down next to Hanna "What's going on?"

"My mum got me a scholarship" She explained "30,000 dollars from the Carissimi Group for my college fund"

"Wow, congratulations" She smiled

"Thanks" She nodded "But I've been searching and that scholarship I got from them isn't listed on any of the usual websites. And their homepage looks like it's some sort of an investment firm." 

"Just try that community tab." Lily suggested and Hanna clicked it

"Doesn't say anything about a scholarship." She said and clicked on the news tab

"Hanna. Wait," Spencer said and pointed to one of the company names on the screen, Radley Sanitarium 

"That's where I saw this name before. In Radley." Hanna realised "I don't get it. Why would the people who paid to shut down Radley pay for my tuition?" 

The girls lapsed into silence as they thought over all the possibilities until Spencer had an idea

"Beloved." She said 

"What?"

"That's what Carissimi means in Latin." She explained "Beloved." 

"As in, Charles, beloved son?" Lily asked, referring to Charles' headstone 

"You said that Jason told your mum about this scholarship?" Spencer asked Hanna who nodded "What if Mrs. D's favourite charity was also her oldest son's bank account?"
