Hugo's POV

I was just sitting in the eternal library reading a book about alchemy, even though the subject is interesting, I think Varian would like the book better, I'm more into inventing mechanics than mixing chemicals but Varian loves alchemy, I should give him the book when I'm done with it, all though he has probably already read the whole library by now, oh well.

as I was reading, I felt a hand grab mine, I turned and saw Varian sitting there, his head laying on my shoulder and him grabbing my hand, I smiled, he looked exhausted,

"You alright Goggles?" I asked

Varian yawned before nodding.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just a long day, lots of inventing and alchemy, I love it but I'm exhausted, I need sleep and lots of love," He said to me before he yawned again

"So you want me to cuddle with you while you sleep?" I asked

"Please" he answered

I chuckled before closing the book, I then stood up and picked up Varian bridal style, there is a corner in the library only we can access, it has a bunch of pillows and blankets on a mattress, we call it the nap area where we go when we're tired but cant leave the library cause of how exhausted we are, I walked over to the corner and layed Varian down on it. I then laid down beside him and he layed his head on my chest, I put one of the blankets over one of us

"Hugo.....Can I tell you something?" Varian asked

"Yeah, what's up?" i answered

Varian yawned before he said "I've been talking about you to my dad, and he wants you to come over for dinner tomorrow night so you 2 can meet" 

i was shocked, Varian's dad wants to meet me!?! before I could respond, i saw Varian had fallen asleep, I sighed before smiling, I kissed Varian's forehead, I'm sure everything will be alright

~The next day~

Yeah, Everything is not gonna be ok, Varian's dad is the scariest man in all of old corona, I am more terrified of them than the king, and the king is already terrifying himself, by king I mean king Fredrick. Well I need help

I walked into the throne room and saw Queen Rapunzel and king Eugene talking on the throne, I had a face of panic, 

"Uhhh, Hugo? are you alright?" Eugene asked, 

"No, I am not alright" I answered

Rapunzel and Eugene walked over and Rapunzel put her hand on My shoulder

"What's wrong?" Rapunzel asked

"I have to meet Varian's dad today, and he is by far the most terrifying guy I have ever heard of" I explained 

Eugene looked understanding,

"Well kid, I was like this as well when I had to meet Rapunzels Parents so here are some tips, 1, ya gotta be yourself, don't try and be someone your not, also maybe bring a gift like flowers or something and do not let him know your nervous" Eugene explained to me

I took a deep breath and nodded,

"Thanks, Eugene," I said

"Not a problem kid," Eugene said
