KYRAS POV

I went to the living room. I could go out of the front door. Security. Back door has security. Prince was in the living room watching me squirm for a way out.

"Do you need anything?" He laughed to himself.

"I need to get out of here. These new surroundings are changing and altering me. I have to go before its too late." I grabbed a chair and looked out of the window further up. Security.

"What do you mean altering you?" He raised an eyebrow.

"I'm doing stuff I've never done before. Seeing stuff. It's too quiet. I need the noise of the street." I sighed frustratedly and put the chair back. "I'm not safe here."

"What do you mean? You're safe here. I got you-"

"You don't got shit. I need to leave! NOW!" I put my finger in his face.

"You're safer here than you are on the streets."

"No!" I turned my back to him and started looking out of the window.

"Hey..." He called out camly. I rolled my eyes and passed him to search for another exit. "What are you afraid of?" He asked.

I froze. "Me? Afraid? Of what?"

"Who's after you?" He asked, walking closer.

"Wh-what?"

"You jumped up and tried to throw a fucking knife at me. Who are you afraid of?" He asked.

"5 FUCKING FEET!" I stopped him from walking any closer. "And I'm not running. I just don't like you. Which is why I'm leaving." I scoffed and turned around. He ran in front of me and blocked the door.

"Listen. I've fed you. Clothed you. Given you shelter. And I have no problem with continuing to do it. Just stay." He pleaded.

"Why do you want me to stay so bad?!" I groaned and tried to walk around him, but he stepped in front of me.

"Because. I see it. You've been through hell. I don't know what. I don't know how. But you have. You jumping up at me like that wasn't normal. Yeah, you've thrown knives, but you stopped when you took a look and realized it was me. I'm just trying to help you out and keep you out of danger." He slightly smiled.

"I'm going to break out of here one of these days." I mumbled and sat down on the couch.

"Get up and get dressed. We bout to go out." He walked past me and headed upstairs.

"Where? Why?" My eyes popped open.

"Shopping. I saw the way you looked at those joggers." He grabbed his keys.

This could be my chance to escape.

"And if you're thinking about it, no. I'll have my guards on duty." He smiled and opened the door. I rolled my eyes and got off the couch.

"Your guards won't stop me from shit." I mumbled as I stepped out of the front door.

I stared out of the window. Looking at people. I mostly knew everyone. Most didn't know me. I've migrated from corner to corner since I was 9. You meet a lot of people over the course of 8 years.

"You look fascinated." He smiled as he grabbed his phone. He wasn't driving. One of his guards was.

"Why would I be? I've seen everyone. If I haven't, they're new." I bluntly corrected him while leaning on the door.

"You have a smart mouth." He commented.

"If you don't like it you can always drop me off at any corner." I replied.

"I like that. I can always know how you feel." He smiled. Why the fuck is he always smiling? Why the fuck is he always happy?

We pulled up at a mall. I shook my head.

"No. Too many people."

"It's okay. You'll be fine. You should be used to this, years spent on the street." He looked at me.

"No that's different. Nobody notices you. You're showing up. Im pretty sure people know who the richest man in NY is. I don't need that." I crossed my arms and sat back in my seat.

"True...I'll have my guards shop for you." He handed me a phone. "Its an online catalog. Just screenshot what you want and they'll get it."

I looked at him before taking the phone.

"Which store you wanna visit first?" He asked.

I clicked on Rue 21 and started going through their stuff. "What's the budget?" I asked.

"There is none. You're going to be living with me now so you need all the clothes you can get." He responded, looking out of the window.

I started screenshotting shirts. Crewnecks. Sweatshirts. Joggers. Leggings. Pants. Basically anything that I could.(examples in side pic) I took a second look at some of the stuff and decided if I really wanted it. Hopped from store to store, item to item, it took a while.

After I was done I looked at him. He took his phone and handed it to the guard.

It was just us. Alone. And I didn't like that.

"So..." He broke the silence. "I bought you a phone...have you heard of the iPhone 6 plus?" He asked while handing me a phone. I looked at it while carefully examining it.

"Uh..." He reached over which caused me to put my fist up. He put one hand up while reaching for my phone. He pressed a button and an apple appeared on the screen.

I lowered my fist and he backed up while looking out of his window.

"So...why do all this stuff if you know I'm trying to escape?" I asked him, looking away.

"If you do manage to escape, at least you'll go back safer than you came." He continued to look out of the window.

"No I won't. People will try to rob me of this." I protested while going through the phone.

"No. You can hide it. And if you ever need help, you can call me. I put my phone number in there already." He informed me.

"I've never needed you before. Why would I need you now?" I rolled my eyes.

He shrugged and looked at the passing cars.

"Thank you." I muttered. He smiled and looked at me.

I looked at him. For the first time his smile was actually...

Nice.
