Morning came and Athelinda was awoken by her nanny, Cassandra. It was quite a normal morning, Athelinda was bathed , dressed and served breakfast by her maid. Last night's events almost seemed like nothing but a bad dream. In the end Athelinda got what she was aiming for, the maids trust and loyalty. It took a while for Cassandra to trust her but what else could she had done?

Abandoned by the Duke.

Has nowhere to go.

and a possibility of the Duke planning to kill her also remained.

Princess Athelinda on the other hand,

offered her a necklace for protection.

helped her escape from the Duke.

and forgave Cassandra even after her life was threatened.

Athelinda was not particularly interested in making the maid switch sides...but there were several factors which led to her decision,

Cassandra could become her secret guard, since the emperor hasn't given her one, and protect her from any future assassins.

Cassandra also proved to be quite smart and talented seeing as how she observed and found Athelinda's barriers weak point.

As of current, Athelinda had no one on her side to help her in her life as a princess and so she needed people who supported her and whom she could rely on.

So, on the night when the moon was full, Cassandra swore loyalty to the princess and decided to guide and protect her from all harm.

Although Athelinda thought that someone who can switch sides and become loyal to former enemies within a week, is someone she should not trust. She still kept herself alert from any dangers.

-----

Athelinda's tutoring had begun now and she was diligently studying each and every subject. She would be surrounded by piles of book throughout the day and she would actually enjoy reading them.

Athelinda didn't reveal her true potential in front of the tutors. She would purposely get average scores on her assessments and try not to attract too much attention. More attention on her meant more danger for her.

And like every other day , Athelinda sat in her bed holding a book. The slightly open curtains allowed the golden rays of light penetrate the windows and land upon her face, which made her partially close her eyes to avoid the light.

She sat with her hair tied into two pigtails and falling down her shoulders. Her dress was white with a blue floral pattern on it. She was immersed in reading. Currently she had been reading about the great mage.

"Your Highness, since the weather is nice , would you prefer going on a walk? You haven't exercised for a while now." Cassandra spoke as she drew the curtains apart, making the whole room bright with sunshine.
