Chapter 2

Rileys POV

He sipped his coffee staring at me intensely, His legs were crossed and his coat was hanging from the side of his chair, He ruffled his light brown hair before breaking the silence.

“What do you want from me and how do you know?”

“Well, you're quite friendly, aren't you?” Honestly, if I wasn’t in the middle of explaining to an immortal man why I’ve been stalking him since the 80s I would say he's hot. But I'm smarter to know that you’re not supposed to hit on people that want to turn your windpipe into decorative bow pieces for gift boxes. “Let’s just say you get a lot of time on your hands when you're immune to death.” he raised a brow “Ok, ok, well it all started when I was 18. When I found out I couldn't die. I started researching and researching, trying to find answers.”

“You know how to do research?”

“Wha-?”

“I thought you were illiterate.’

“Why would I be at a book convention if I was illiterate?”

“I don’t know, Why WERE you at my booth with a book written before you were even born?”

“Let me continue- I found your books, and they all connected...They all led to the same person. You. And- And- You've been writing! Forever! That's incredible, it’s phenomenal even, how you dedicated the rest of eternity to writing, it shows how-” I'm rambling. This always happens when I talk about something I'm passionate about. I get carried away and say too much. I immediately shut up and cover my mouth. He looked at me with a soft smile “Sorry..” I say with an awkward face

“So you've been searching for me?”

“Mhm!”

“That's creepy.”  I rolled my eyes for the 50th time this day

“Well what did you expect me to do? Spend the rest of my never ending days clueless about why we are like this?”  He shrugged, “Well I didn't expect all this.”
...

We talked for about 2 hours, Gods I could talk to him forever. We told each other almost everything, his books, my favorites, he even told me about how much he hates modern things like technology and math. I found him. After so long of searching, I found the person that I get to spend the rest of my forever with.  Of Course I would never tell him that's the reason for my investigation.  I wanna be his friend, And I won't stop until we are. “It's getting late.” He said, looking down at his phone
“I have to get to work.”

“Oh, Well can I get your number?”
I handed  him my Iphone.
Please take it, it would make this so much easier.  I cross my fingers and he hesitates, But grabs my phone and types his number in. Yes! Number secured. “We should hang out again.” I smile, “Sure."
And with that he collected his things, put on his trench coat and left the cafe.
