The earth was on the brink of death over used and polluted, nasa and other countries space centres filled as many of their ships as possible and sent people to a planet which was studied and could possibly sustain human life.
Humans ended up thriving here ,the planet had running water and edible plants and animals.
Everything was going well for a good 200 years until a parasite from one of the local animal managed to jump to humans .
The parasite has the ability to take over the hosts mind and make them irrationaly violent, the parasite does not kill the host instead keeping the body and brain alive so it can sustain its self, after the initial outbreak of this people managed to kill off most parasites however they soon evolved to allow the host to have some control so they appeared more natural however still making them violent, almost psychotic which made them harder to kill and find.
