Chapter 7: Ideal Date

Start from the beginning

Several games later, you trek down the city's streets only this time hand in hand. "What do you want to do next?" He started. You hum in thought hoping to improvise as you've done the last time. Repeatedly, the universe beholds you with an anime store. It reminded you that you've been meaning to buy something but didn't have the time to until now. "Let's go shopping! I want to get something." He furrows his brows in disappointment. "Seriously? You sound like my sister." You look at him surprised as you walk down the aisle of the shop. "You have a sister?" It is now that he found himself slipping a personal detail about himself. He tries to play it cool by browsing through the products. "Yeah, she's a year younger than me. Her name is Emma." Intrigued, you crouch beside him and mirror his movements while multitasking for a certain item. "Emma, huh? I never knew someone like you could be a big brother." You jested. "I mean no offense, but you're kind of childish." He grumbles but you find yourself immune since it's amusing to discover new. "Yeah, well it's true about being the older sibling." He thinks back to his elementary days mumbling something under his breath as he unconsciously traces a figurine. "Is Emma sweet?" You proceeded. "I guess so? Draken and Takemitchy's wifey have taken a liking to her. They say she's kind, but as her brother, I have my own opinion." Talking about Emma desired you to meet her for yourself. On top of that, it's nice to know that Mikey wasn't an only child. He has someone he cares for other than his gang. "I want to see her." You said. "Why?" His voice held a hint of suspicion, a habit of his when it comes to his personal life. "What do you mean? If Emma is your sister that means she's precious, right?" Mikey stares in bewilderment. "Family is everything to me too and if she's family, I want to be close to Mikey." You confessed. "I want to know more about you because you're my treasure too. Is that so wrong?" His eyes glisten with a mixture of love and astonishment. It's as though his heart was touched. No one has ever bothered to reciprocate such tender words to him. "(Y/n)." He sighed as if to check for confirmation that it's you who has spoken pleasant words that have made him swoon. "Found them!" You shouted cheerfully breaking him out of his daze. "We can go now. I just have to pay for these. Meet me outside, yeah?" Without bothering for an answer you trot over to the counter leaving Mikey at a loss for speech.

Eventually, you drag him forward to the next destination. Your bubbly attitude enlightens the mood as you press on. "I had no idea you were into Anime." You blush as if caught red-handed. "When you spend your time alone, you find your own community. Anime happens to be filled with lots of interesting life lessons."

"Here I thought you were just a dork." He joked.

"That's getting old, but I'll let it slide since you're learning about me." You groaned.

"So, where to next?" He asked.

"Wherever our stomachs will take us." You said.

"Are you hungry?" Before your could answer, your stomach growls. You hold your stomach flustered that your own body could betray you. Mikey laughs and points in a direction. "There's a ramen shop nearby. Do you want to eat there?" You shyly approve and take his hand. From another's perspective, they could see hearts hovering above your head.

Once dinner was over, Mikey escorted you home and during the walk, you marvel at the stars, boring him with constellations. "The star alignments are much more different in American than here in Japan." You informed. "How do you know that? Did you read it in a book?" He teased. You didn't dignify that and responded with a calm tone, "no, I used to visit my family in America." You declared. "You have family in America?" It's his turn to be curious now. "Yeah, I'm an American citizen but I moved here when I was three."

"That explains why you look foreign." He said. "Yeah, and often times why I get picked on." Your voice starts to grow somber now hanging your head in woe. "Mikey, do you know why I have no friends? It's because I'm different, so it was hard to believe you when you said you liked me." You collect your thoughts as you reminisce about the past. "When you told me about how much I cared for you in elementary, I was so happy I impacted you. To think that my efforts in the past allowed me to make a friend like you meant that it's not hopeless for me after all." You stop in your tracks wiping away the tears daring to fall and as you attempt to refrain from tearing up, the waterworks push through as a wave of emotion comes crashing in. "I really, really tried to make friends when I was young, participate in everyone's circle but I was seen as an outcast so I gave up. Then you came along and just told me you liked me. Me, of all people. I-"

You squat unable to hold yourself any longer. Mikey watches as you break in front of him. His heart felt like needles piercing him the longer he watched. He wasn't sure what to say but tried his best to alleviate the pain. He strokes your head first then pulls away your hands to witness your messy face. "I'm sorry that people can be terrible. People tend to judge a book by it's cover portraying you to be something you're not. I know what that's like, but the only person who can tell you who to be is yourself. You don't have to prove to anybody anything." He tenderly wipes away your tears and smiles softly. "Mikey...thank you." You raise your head and meet his gaze. At that moment, all you wanted to do was kiss him and exchange your sadness with love...so you did.

"If this is my reward then you're most welcome." He smirked. "We should get you home." He picks you up off the ground and herds you home. You feel his warmth, the way he holds you tight enough to express that he wasn't planning on going anywhere. He would stop from time to time to check up on you, waiting patiently for you. In that second you felt like the luckiest girl in the world.

Once at the front door, you stare down at your feet twiddling your thumbs unsure what to say. He sheepishly rubs the back of his neck feeling the same way. "I guess this is where we say goodbye." You started. "Yeah." There was another awkward pause before it struck you, a present you wished to gift him. "I brought us something." You whip out a box and pull out a yin and yang, heart bracelets. "I bought us a bracelet meant for couples. We each have a piece of a heart to remember each other by." You place the white heart on his right wrist as a symbol that you are his light. "I wanted to fetch the necklace version, but I think this works perfectly." You chirped. His eyes light up with gratitude to be granted something he could cherish and remind him of someone dear. "I didn't want to spoil the surprise." He traces the material in silence but it makes you nervous that perhaps he dislikes it. "Do you like it? S-say something, please." The blonde takes your bracelet with the black pendant and places it on your hand as if he bestowed a symbol of love. It sends your heart into a flutter. His lips suddenly crash into yours pulling you close by your hips. You let out a muffled grunt of surprise, gripping his shirt. "This is the best gift I've ever received. Thank you, baby~" He cooed. "Y-you're welcome." You look away covering your mouth flustered. His hand tilts your head assuming you were done, but his voice grows husky, "don't turn away from me." You shudder, submitting to his spellbinding voice. Your limbs grow numb as he steals another kiss, one longer than the last. Both hearts beat at a fast rate with each electrifying smooch. It was clear that Mikey was aroused by your loving gesture and to thank you, he had the urge to keep you close and express his affection. You felt the burning passion growing into something more. His knee slips between your legs stimulating your heat with a small amount of friction. Your hips sway, asking for more.

He growls against your lips, murmuring your name in between kisses. He was losing himself and even worse when you caresses his face. Unfortunately, you couldn't advance as the door swings wide open by the owner of the house, your older sister. Mortified she yelps,

"(Y/n)?!"
