For the past few days, Mikey has made himself comfortable in your home making it his own hang-out. At first you found it a bit weird, but after much time you've grown used to it. There was a balance between his absence and clinginess that eased you into the idea. You've been missing him for so long that you're just content to have him close to you. Everyday he would walk you home from school and crash in your space filling it with noise. It was a nice change of pace.
You walk into your room after fetching some snacks for your beloved, Mikey wearing your pair of glasses without consent. "Mikey, put those down." You warned. "Sheesh, can you even see with these? They hurt my eyes. All I see is a blur." He teased. You swap the glasses off his hands for a cookie. "Of course I can, but they're only for seeing far away." You huffed. "So you're blind?" He deadpanned. "Shush you." You throw a pillow at him earning a chuckle. "Now where was I?" You seated at your desk, open book in hand, "Oh right, the industrial age." Your mumbled attracting the blonde into hovering over your shoulder munching on a cookie. You gave it a minute before considering him a disturbance. "Mikey, do you mind? I'm trying to study." You hinted. "But I'm bored." He whined. "Then watch T.V." You shooed him away. Not even five minutes pass realizing his presence in general is a distraction. "I meant downstairs, not here." You clarified. "Hai! Hai!" He sighed taking the tray downstairs and finally leaving you in peace.
A few hours later, Mikey reenters the room agitatedly. "Seriously? You're still studying?" Unbothered, you said, "of course, I have exams next week and I have to refresh my memory if I'm planning on acing them." Now it's the blonde who snatches the book away, flipping through the pages as he ignores your cries of complaint. "Hey! Give that back!" You demanded reaching for the article to no avail. He simply dodged your attempts like a pro. A devilish smirk etched upon his lips as you desperately struggle to retrieve the item. His movements soon bring him to the edge of the bed where you use the opportunity to throw yourself on the lad in order to swindle the item back. Alas, it slips through your fingers befalling smack dab on the young lad's face. You lie on top of him, flustered by the intimate position. His arms instinctively secure your waist as you apologetically remove the textbook unveiling his childish grin underneath.
"What's the big deal? Why did you interrupt me when I told you I was busy." His nose nestles into your neck inhaling your lovely scent. It would be a lie if you said it wasn't cute. "I know, but I missed you and you looked like you could use a break." You puff your cheeks, "you only wanted me to yourself." You pointed out. "Is that wrong?" You bashfully avert your gaze, and clutch his shirt. "N-no, it isn't". His back rubs relaxes you into his embrace where you eventually loosen your grip and enjoy his warmth. His lips brush from your cheeks up to your temple placing a chaste kiss upon them. The foreign feeling sparks something within. The second kiss to your cheek is the same result until he tips your chin for a long kiss. An electric spark shoots throughout your entire body sending your heart ablaze. Once again, your hands clasp and unclasp onto his shirt unsure of what to do with them.
As your lips part, you're left in a breathless daze. "Ah~ I feel rejuvenated." He sighed contently. "That was my first kiss." You confessed. "Really? I would have thought you've had plenty of smooches." You gape astounded by his stupidity. "What? I told you that no one has ever shown interest in me. Like at all. Zero. Zilch. Nada." You emphasized. "That's hard to believe. You're very pretty." There he goes again, embarrassing you with a simple compliment. "I'm not at all, so I don't know where you get that idea that I'm the most attractive person in high school." The past flashes in your head like a slide show of every time you've been ditched, and ranked ugly for no apparent reason. Tears well up but you rub them away as you sit up. "Why do you even like me, Mikey?" Said man follows, and stares at your shivering back. "Do you remember the first day we met?"
"Vaguely." You answered. "I just remember the teacher asked us to be buddies for the entire year so that we were never isolated whenever a project arises." He nods in affirmation. "Yep, and while everyone coward from me, you ignored my reputation and treated me like an equal. More than that, you were always firm and taking care of me." He smiles over a memory, "some kid threw a piece of gum at my head and you clipped it off. I was ticked off that they had humiliated me. Just before I could knock them out, you snipped a piece of your hair and called us the same." Again you rarely remember your elementary days, yet the story sounded familiar. "Then there was also the time when you would patch me up and said I should be careful. I snapped and asked you "why you even put up with my shit." I'll never forget what you said. You said, "buddies stick together no matter what and if someone is hurting me, then they are hurting you." Since then, I've had a change of perspective about you." You stare down at him astonished that he remembered something that happened so long ago. He leans in to remove your lenses and wipes away your tears with his thumbs. "From then on, I became protective of my buddy and she became someone special to me." Your heart races admiring his sweet side being poured into you. "So you see? I couldn't care what the hell you look like so long as you're mine." He plants a kiss to your forehead then pulls you into a hug. "You're my treasure, (Y/n)." He whispered.
