Hindi ako nakasagot. He opened the box and took two pregnancy tests.

“Bakit dalawa? Isa lang ata ay puwede na.”

“Just to make sure. Ang sabi ni Thalia ay puwede rin magkamali ang ganito kaya para makasiguro ay kailangan damihan.”

Tumango ako at inabot ang tests mula sa kaniya. Sumayad sa palad ko ang lamig ng kamay niya.

“Are you tensed?” I laughed.

He rolled his eyes on me while shaking his head. “I’m fucking nervous.”

Mas lalong lumakas ang tawa ko habang siya ay lumalim ang simangot sa mukha. I understand why he has that kind of reaction. Noon pa man ay palagi niya nang sinasabi sa akin na gusto niya na akong mabuntis. Though, he didn’t make me feel pressured about getting pregnant. He always said that come what may.

“What should I do with these?” I asked as I looked back at the kit.

“Take a pee and put three to four droplets here,” he pointed the little circle near the result line. “We’ll wait for a minute or so to see the results.”

Tiningnan ko siya. Kalmado ang ekpresyon ng mukha ngunit bahagyang salubong ang kilay.

“We?”

“Yes, Chloe. We. I won’t go out and wait for you to see the result.”

Humaba ang nguso ko, hindi na nakipagtalo dahil nasisiguro ko na mas matindi pa ang sabik na nararamdaman niya kaysa sa akin.

Ibinaba ko ang hawak na pregnancy tests sa ibabaw ng sink at nagpunta sa toilet bowl. I was about to lift the hem of my dress when I suddenly thought of something.

“Paano ko masasalo ang wiwi ko, Hellios? Do you have any plastic cup there?”

Sandali siyang nag-isip. He squatted and opened the cabinet where the toiletries are. Nakakita siya doon ng isang plastic cup, medyo malaki ang bibig no’n at siguradong masasalo ang urine sample na kailangan ko.

“Here. Need help?” he asked and gave me the plastic cup.

“No. I think I can already do this.”

Tuluyan ko nang itinaas ang laylayan ng dress ko habang ang underwear naman ay ibinaba at naupo sa bowl.

Since Hellios and I got married, I totally lost all my embarrassment about showing my body to him. Siguro ay dahil nasanay na rin naman ako na madalas nakikitang nakahubad sa harapan niya. Nilapitan ni Hellios ang urine sample ko. To my surprise, he took the kit and put the urine to the holes all by himself with furrowed brows. Hindi man lang ako hinintay! Tila siya may masusing pinag-aaralan na hindi man lang magawang kumurap.

Seriously. Am I still needed here?

He was done dropping the urine samples on the kit. Lumapit ako sa kaniya at niyakap siya sa bewang niya mula sa gilid. He wrapped his around me as we both wait for the results to come out.

Unti-unting gumalaw ‘yon. At nang makita ang resulta ay naramadaman ko ang paninigas ng katawan ni Hellios. Habang ako ay mariing pumikit at nagpakawala ng buntonghininga.

“I ain’t dreaming, baby?” he asked through his husky voice.

I chuckled and embraced him ever more. “I don’t think you are.”

He cursed out and that’s when I opened my eyes. Naabutan ko siyang titig na titig sa dalawang linya sa pregnancy test bago nagtama ang mga mata namin sa salamin.

I smiled at him. He smirked at me. Kinalas niya ang pagkakayakap sa akin at marahas akong binuhat at buong ingat na iniupo sa sink. He encircled his hands around my waist and inched his face closer to mine. The tip of our noses touched, smile were creeping on our lips.

“Congratulations my baby momma,” His voice was deep and raspy while biting his lower lip. “Can’t wait to walk through this journey with you.”

Dinala ko ang mga kamay paikot sa leeg niya at mas hinapit pa siya palapit sa akin. I don’t know but his scent kind of makes me feel addicted. Parang ang sarap-sarap niya lagi amuyin.

“A blessing from above. Let’s go to the church and give thanks to Him, can we?”

He sealed my lips with a fiery kiss that lasted for a couple of seconds. Kahit sandali lang ay nagawa niyang mapapugto ang paghinga ko. He leans in his forehead against mine and smiled.

“Wherever you want.”
