Mommy Kim doesn't visit often, and occasionally when she does, it was during the day, when Roseanne was in school. So even though Jennie and Roseanne had been dating for a long time, neither side had met. When she heard Roseanne's greetings, her expression turned slightly complicated, and she hesitated for a while. Without a reply or even making a song, she entered the apartment.

Roseanne set the garbage bag outside the door, washed her hands, and poured a glass of water for Mommy Kim.

Probably because she didn't quite approve the relationship, Mommy Kim was tense from the beginning to the end. Roseanne was sensible; she knew what Mommy Kim was thinking and took the initiative in starting a conversation. Mommy Kim briefly asked a few questions, and she answered them patiently, one by one. When she heard that Roseanne was 22, Mommy Kim immediately frowned.

For a moment, the temperature seemed to drop; the atmosphere had frozen. She was not able to accept this situation, but in the end, she couldn't do anything about it. After a long time, she calmed down and talked with Roseanne for half an hour.

At noon, Jennie brought the groceries and returned. As soon as she entered, she saw the two sitting on the sofa and chatting like everything was normal. At first, she stood there in a daze; then, she reacted with a shout, "Mom!"

The previous heavy expression on her mother's face eased up a little and nodded slightly in response.

Jennie glanced at Roseanne with a guilty look, and the other party looked back calmly.

The three had lunch together, but because Jennie had to open the shop in the afternoon, she had Roseanne escort Mommy Kim home instead.

Roseanne stayed for dinner before leaving. Although Mommy Kim had her complaints about Roseanne's age, she didn't make things complicated and decided that the age gap was normal. After meeting her today, she could guess as to why Jennie was always hiding Roseanne from her. However, as a person gets older, they start to lose interest and become more relaxed when dealing with other people's affairs. She was also trying to be more open-minded and decided to leave let the younger generation be responsible for their affairs. She just wanted to live the rest of her days in comfort, playing cards with her grandchild. Although she was still concerned, she no longer interfered.

Roseanne understood Mommy Kim's intentions and concerns, so in the following days, she would go shopping Mommy Kim and bought small gifts for Jennie's family when she visited.

Jennie was more concerned about Roseanne's education. She didn't go to graduate school, so she had no idea what it was like to be a graduate student. For the next half of the year, she researched everything about Yonsei University and bought reference materials that Roseanne might need.

Jisoo said she was like her mother and was more worried than even Roseanne's biological parents.

"Today's schools are more stressful than before," she said softly, "I can't help much anyway, so this is all I can do for her."

Jisoo quipped: "She hasn't even left yet and you're already like this. When she leaves, I bet you'll fly to Busan the next day."

Jennie smiled but didn't deny nor defend herself.

It may be because she was leaving soon, but time passed extremely fast, just like the sand in the funnel, flowing at a fast rate. Roseanne leisurely spent her time, and occasionally went to the school's lab for some research, but the rest of her time she spent helping out at the store. Also, the two of them did it at least two times a week, and now Jennie no longer had anything left to teach her.

As she grew used to this comfortable lifestyle, Jennie was even more reluctant to see her go.

But that day will eventually come. In September of the following year, she sent Roseanne Yonsei University and only returned to Gwangju after she spent two days in Busan.

The first day after their separation, everything felt the same as usual. However, on the second day, her heart started to feel a bit empty, and by the third day, she felt anxious, even during their phone calls.

On the fourth night, at about half-past ten, Roseanne called, and she had just taken a shower.

She picked up, and the other party only said four words-"I'm at the door."

She froze as she heard those words, and walked in a daze, opening her door, when two hands grabbed her waist and hugged her.

She wanted to say something, but Roseanne closed the door and kissed her, stripping off those obstructing pajamas.

Actions speak louder than words; at this moment, all their thoughts and feelings were expressed through actions.

Maybe it was because absence makes the heart grow fonder, it came fast, like the raging ocean waves, while Roseanne bites her soft red tongue.

Jennie was pinned against the wall, arms wrapped around her shoulders.

"I missed you-"
