Jennie clenched her hands into fists, to Roseanne's side, and asked softly, "What were you talking about with her?"

"Nothing much, just a few random words. They asked me where I was from." Roseanne replied, "Maybe because, at first glance, I don't look like the typical Korean."

Jennie smiled.

Behind her, Jisoo called out to Jennie and asked her what she thought about the clothing she was holding. Jennie didn't ask anything more and walked away.

After a few people finished their shopping, it was already noon. Jisoo invited them to eat out at a restaurant on the fourth floor.

During the meal, Jisoo received messages on her phone from her company. Even on her vacation, the company wouldn't give her a break. The product department sent her over a dozen messages, asking her to return to work early the next morning to take a look at a problematic product. It was quite a headache and looked like she would be busy all next week again.

And she was right. When Wednesday arrived, it was Jennie's birthday, but she could only send her a few text messages, wishing her a happy birthday.

That day, Jennie also received a call from her brother and returned home to celebrate her birthday.

After the dinner and cake, Mommy Kim walked Jennie out the door.

The pair of mother and daughter were silent the entire time, and when she was out the door, Jennie could not help but whisper, "Thanks, Mom."

Mommy Kim maintained a blank expression, thinking about what to say and glanced at her: "Next time...bring your girlfriend with you."

She was still somewhat unable to accept this, and there was hesitation between her words, but for her to be able to say this was already hard enough for her. It showed she had thought about this a lot and had to overcome a few mental struggles of her own.

Jennie understood who Mommy Kim was talking about; however, she didn't acknowledge anything, but nodded: "Ok."

"I don't know what you're thinking, choosing someone so young. She looks like a troublemaker too." Mommy Kim voiced her dissatisfaction as she called for a taxi. Then without saying another word, Mommy Kim turned around and headed back inside.

Jennie watched her leave, with mixed feelings in her heart.

She had received Jisoo's messages and the messages from her other friends as well. During the car ride back, she responded to each message.

However, she hadn't received anything from a certain someone.

She opened the chat and sent a message to the other party: What are you doing?

The other party quickly responded: Waiting for you.

Jennie stepped inside the elevator and pressed the button for the 15th floor. When she saw those three words, her heart pounded. She realized something but was afraid to confirm it. She didn't reply, and stared at the changing numbers, rapidly rising from 1 to 15.

Ding-

The elevator's doors opened.

Suddenly, she felt her eyes water-Roseanne standing in front of the door with a bouquet.

"Happy Birthday." She handed the flowers to Jennie.

"Thank you."

Then they both went silent. As soon as she entered the door, Roseanne swept her into her arms, kissed her hair, kissed her forehead, kissed her nose, and then touched those pink lips. Every action was affectionate and gentle.

In response, Jennie grabbed her shoulder, threw the flowers onto the sofa, threw off her high heels, and hugged Roseanne's waist.

After tossing around all night, Jennie opened up Roseanne's gift for her-an an all-white box-inside was a ring, not the wedding kind, but a ring nonetheless.

Roseanne kissed her neck and said: "I had it made over summer vacation, I asked a trusted contact to make it, do you like it?"

The voice was a little hoarse, tickling her heart.

The apartment opposite of hers, 1503, which had been empty, finally had a new occupant move in.

Jennie, who had been home these past few days, didn't know until they came knocking on her door.

"Hello, my girlfriend."
