Q. Can you tell something
about 'Squadron Leader
Sidharth Shukla' which no
one knows on Wattpad?

A: Well if I were to explore
a facet of Squadron Leader
Sidharth Shukla's
personality, I would have
said 'A prankster'. Blessed
with a sharp wit, Squadron
Leader Shukla would have
played a whole lot of pranks
in his NDA days: on his
friends, cadets and
seniors.

02. Where did the idea of a
'fighter pilot' come from?

A: As I have mentioned in
my book,l have always been
enamoured by the Indian
Defence Forces; especially
the Indian Army. My father
in his youth had been
selected for the Indian Army
but due to some unforeseen
family circumstances, he
had to drop out the second
day. Till date he looks at his
day one photograph in
Uniform with pride and
longing. When I actually
started reading SidNaaz FF
a story started taking shape
in my mind. When I saw the
writers write, I felt I could
give it a shot too.
The Indian ArmyBalkot
Airstrikes 2019 left a deep
impact on the entire nation.
I was no different. My story
was actually this .the
second part. I had to weave
the first part as I couldn't
bear to write a story about
SidNaaz and not give due
space to their romance.
And so started 'The Forever
Feeling'.

Q. What was your first
reaction when people began
loving Squadron Leader
Sidharth Shukla so much?
Was it unexpected or
overwhelming?

A: I was ecstatic when a
reader xyfdyhm(Sania) gave
the very first comment on
May 16th, 2020. It made me
feel so special.I had only
expected 10-15 readers to
read my book. The
subsequent love from
fellow authors, especially
Krizzy, Marie and many
more helped my confidence
immensely. The love that
followed was completely
overwhelming.

Q. If today, you were to
rewrite the main characters,
what would you change and
why?

A: I will not change
anything. but I will add on
the lighter side of Squadron
Leader Shukla. I think
explored situational
comedy but not other styles
of comedy in this book.

Q. What was the hardest
scene to write and why?

Ans: Every scene was very
difficult until it got written.
The road trip was a
challenge. The SidNaaz
wedding was so
challenging that I didn't
sleep properly for nights.
There were times when I
would laugh at the funny
scenarios in my head but
would struggle to pen them
down. Another
disadvantage was that
just could not write more
than 800-900 words in a
chapter. It just wouldn't
happen. My brain would
shut down and my fingers
would refuse to write more.
However, if I Were to point
down the most difficult
section, it would be the post
capture chapters. Being an
Indian, the plot I had
envisaged was in black and
white. As I revealed the
details, I started getting
hundreds of messages
from my Pakistani readers.
Thave always maintained
that I write for myself. I
write what I really want to
read. But these messages
forced me to question
myself..my stand on the
stereotypes. I have often
found that it is easy to go
on a 'Gyaan mode'. I have
seen writers going ballistic
with fallacies. Just because
we see or find one example
doesn't make it all like that.
So, we might have
witnessed a section of a
particular country or
religion going awry...we
can't generalise the whole
to be the same.
Maintaining
that balanced tone..And I
think I have been able to do
that...was really tough.

Q. How did you respond to
Our pilot's fandom?

A: Once I knew people were
reading this book, I quite
expected it actually.
Honestly, as a writer my
contribution to the
character Squadron Leader
Sidharth Shukla hadn't
been much of a challenge.
Our Sidharth Shukla and
Shehnaaz in BB13
showcased such vibrant
personalities that all we
writers had to do was to put
what we saw in words.
And Sid in a Uniform is
HOT! His integrity and
fearlessness added
immensely to his charisma.
Thave been lucky enough to
meet him and I can vouch
for his magnetism

A: Sorry girls...main
Shehnaaz ka thaa..hoon aur
rahoonga! But still keep on
loving me!
