Techno watched curiously as you snapped your fingers to form a little bunny made of purple flame. The boy gasped at the sight of such a cute mana beast. The rabbit's ears twitched as it jumped out of your palm to prance around the sky and air, the boy chased it. His laughter turned the attention of more onlookers who watched in awe. Meanwhile the pink haired prince only observed with a tender smile.

You spent the rest of the day together, and more and more people approached and bowed to the two of you, each time trying to give the one or both of you a gift. Children gave flowers, adults gave more food and gifts. The frequency was so overwhelming.

"do they always do this?" You ask, looking up at the almost set sun, you'd spent almost every second of the day together.

"yes" He admits, continuing to walk with you.

"why?"

"I'm not entirely sure. But this is the only Province that lets Fae and Beastfolk live in peace, human ruled nations hunt down Fae since every part of them is valuable. Blood, Teeth, Horns, Wings, All embedded with magic."

He looked out at the citizens, his eyes settling on one family in particular that laughed and ate together simply enjoying eachothers company.

"I'm the only one that can protect them from being forced to live like livestock" Techno looked back down at your stunned face, you were speechless. Humans really did that??

"wow…I had no idea" You confess, his fingers trail around your palm mindlessly.

"lets go before more of them try to give us bread"

You laugh at his quick change in subject and mood as he pulls you away from the busy streets and into alleys and side paths. He stays at a relatively moderate pace in order to not tire you, Techo turns a sharp corner, pulling you with him and up against a wall where no one is and sighs with relief.

"Looks like we're good" You both share  warm grins, as he entraps you in his arms, leaning up against your face. You can do nothing but hold the various bags of gifts given to you. He takes them, putting them carefully on the ground before brushing the hair from your face.

"I wish we could stay like this forever" He professed, caressing the skin of your cheek with his thumb. Your cold face welcomed the contact, leaning into his hand with a comforted sigh.

"It can" You answer his strange wish, while he stays quiet. Techno goes to say something but before he does a loud bang goes off.

Bang!

Your eyes widen, as you quickly latch onto Techno for protection from the loud and unknown noise. Techno turns around to look at the starless night sky,  shielding you from potential danger.

Bang!

Another loud boom followed by a splash of colour that lit up the night sky. He sighed in relief that it wasn't an attack on his home, you were shaking in his arms at the sudden noise, eyes shut tight for what might come.

"w-what's happening?!" Your voice comes out weak from fear, he gives you a small peck on the cheek.

"open your eyes" He comes into your ear, you were scared, having never heard something like that before but his words calmed you just enough to peek from one eye over his shoulder. In the sky what seemed like a glowing bird shot up into the sky, it's form exploded into a million pieces of bright colours that made the dark knight look like day.

"w-what?" Your eyes flew open, watching as more of these strange 'birds' flew. "What are they?!" curiosity blanketing your voices, the fear having melted away completely.

"Fireworks'' He chuckled at how you observed them ascend and combust into light like magic. He loved the look of absolute child-like wonderment.

"Techno you're missing it!" You say, still looking over his shoulder and upset he wasn't as excited as you. He ignores your complaints and leans into your neck, his head hovered there for just a moment before placing a small yet longing kiss on you. It sent shivers down your spine, making you instinctively lean into him.

"I'm going to miss this…" He mutters, voice barely above a whisper. You didn't hear him, too enthralled by the display of colour decorating the sky. "Let's go home" He whispers, husky voice reverberating in your ears and almost as if you were hypnotized you nod, letting him slowly lead you back to the castle.

The walk back got quieter the further away you were from the village, until only the echoes of your footsteps could be heard. He led you back into the castle, up the stairs and to your room. Your hand lingered in his not wanting to let go yet.

"Rest well...tomorrow we have a lot to discuss"

"what about?" You spoke up, trying to keep him there with you, to speak to you.

"it's nothing...just promise me you'll sleep"

"I promise" With that left, no words exchanged, not even a goodnight or goodbye. You were left standing by your door, alone and silent dreading what might come tomorrow.
