History Behind Halloween Day According to Wikipedia, Halloween also called as Allhalloween, All Hallows' Eve and All Saints' Eve. Halloween usually celebrated on 31st October every year, the eve of western Christianity feast of All Hollows' Day. It begins the observance of Allhallowtide, the liturgical year remembering the dead, including saints (hallows) , martyrs and all the faithful departed. 

 The Celtic Influence Halloween's date back to the ancient Celtic ancient festival of Samhain (pronounced as Sow-In). The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago mostly in Ireland, United Kingdom and Northern France, celebrated their new year at Novevmber 1st .The Christian Influence Halloween is the evening before the Christian holy days of All Hallows' Day on November 1st and All Souls' Day on November 2nd , thus giving holiday on 31st October the full name of The All Hallows' Eve.Since the time of the early church , major feast in Christianity had vigils that began on the night before, as did the feast of All Hallows'. These three days are collectively called Allhallowtide and all are time for honoring the saints and praying for the recently departed souls to reach Heaven.Believers were once thought to pray as loud as they walked through the forest in order the souls or dead will find peace and comfort in Poland. 

In Spain, the priest in small villages will toll the church bell in order to remind their congregants to remember the dead on All Hallows' Day. In Ireland, and among the immigrants in Canada, a custom includes Christian practice of abstinence, keeping All Hallows' Eve as a meat free day and serving pancakes or Colcannon instead. In Mexico, children make an altar to invite the return of the dead children spirit (Angelitos).
