*The next morning*

Claire Kinsley's POV

"Claire! Come get your breakfast!" My mother plated breakfast on the dining table. I hurried down the stairs while tying up my hair in a ponytail.

I scooted past my mother and said, "Mum, I'm sorry, I'm skipping breakfast, I've to go now, I'm running late!"

"Hang on! I can pack it for you," My mother shouted over to me when I was wearing my shoes by the door.

"It's okay, you don't have to, love you, mum!" I replied and jet my way out of my house immediately.

I tried to get an uber ride through my phone but it was to no avail. Then a car pulled up right next to me by the sidewalk, it didn't take me long to figure out this was Liam's car.

He winded the window down and commanded me impassively as usual, "Get in."

I flicked up my wrist to check the time on my watch, and as much as I'm unwilling to, I had no other choice as of now.

"Well, you're in luck today, if I wasn't running late, I wouldn't get into your car," I shot my remark blatantly across to him before I sat in.

He didn't seem bothered with what I said, instead he loomed over me with his left shoulder stuck out and that got me flinched in panic, "Hey! What are you trying to do?"

"How am I supposed to drive when you didn't put on your seat belt, ma'am?" He looked at me square in the eyes before he proceeded to put on the seat belt for me.

Oh gosh... I just embarrassed myself thoroughly. What was I even thinking? Was I expecting more?!

I fanned myself to cool my flushed temples from the heat of embarrassment. Then he turned around and grabbed a paper bag and a bottle of drink before handing it over to me, "Help yourself to your breakfast, and finish off this bottle of juice before you get down too."

It just never gets old for him to command me around... not even for a day.

"Thanks... but is this blended grape juice with green tea again?" I picked up the bottle of juice and asked him as I stuck my tongue out with disdain.

"Yes, it is," He replied with a nod staunchly.

"Why do you and mum always have to force me to drink such juice every now and then? How could you even control what I drink?!" I complained as I aired my grievances.

His eyes drifted over to my chest briefly with a smirk before he turned his vision back on the road, "Well, you looked malnourished, just thought this would help make up for the loss in the development that you should have gained during your puberty years."

How dare he insulted my... my bosoms!

"That's...That's none of your business!" I held my arms crossed over my chest immediately and I could feel the warmth from my face heating up once again.

"I was just messing around with you," Liam snickered as he scuffed my head with one hand while the other remains on the wheel.

"Hey!" I barked at him for messing up my hair but I do miss times like this with him.

When was the last time we actually fooled around with each other?

I opened up the paper bag and realised Liam has bought me my favourite cold cut trio sandwich for breakfast and that lightened my unhappiness towards him. Come to think about it, I haven't been really nice to him lately, yet he still cares about me unconditionally.

Perhaps I am really taking his care and concern for granted. As I drifted my gaze over to him, I started feeling guilty for the harsh words that I have said to him. I guess I do owe him an apology.

I held my head low as I called out his name, "Liam..."

"Yea?" He asked.

"I'm sorry... sorry for the words I said to you last night... I shouldn't have said it, I was just in the heat of the moment," I tried to explain myself but I was cut off by Liam when he patted on my head with one hand and said to me gently, "It's alright, just don't do it again."

I nodded my head in response to his forgiveness.

"Alright, we're here," Liam pulled up at the staff carpark area of Jenn Haines Hospital and then he got down to open the car door for me.

"It's your first day of intern today, I wish you all the best," He gave me his best wishes after he helped me out of the car.

"Thank you! I got to go now!" I thanked him and was ready to run to my reporting venue. However, I was held back when he pulled me back towards him and his lips curled slightly, "Silly, you still have bread crumbs all over your mouth."

He fished out his handkerchief and wiped the crumbs off me gently with such meticulousness as though I was a child. I couldn't move or shy away from him as he scooped my head gently towards him with one hand. I could feel the warmth emanating from his large manly hand just from the way he cups the back of my head and I couldn't help having my attention drawn over to studying his face once again, how bewitching his eyes were with every swept of his lashes.

Just when... oh when... have you become this... beautiful?

"Alright, there you go," He said to me.

"Oh, thank you, I... I shall make my way now," I responded feeling flustered that I had to quickly walk out of his sight.
