She was just invisible.

She didn't stand out.

She was seen as a normal girl who went to school everyday.

She was the last person who was expected to do something like that.

HRC 20.5 - Regrets

I knew who Eraku (Y/N) was.

But, I didn't say anything.

Because she doesn't even know me.

I am just a schoolmate of hers who happened to be in the same year as her.

I just didn't know that I could be so glad seeing a person change.

Whenever I passed by her class, (L/N)-san was always sitting in the corner, and not talking to any of her classmates. I would always hear her class mumbling strange and bad things about her. I was quite the coward back then, so I couldn't say anything. I would just listen and get angry at myself for not being able to defend a girl who was just not talking and simply taking her time to adjust to her surroundings.

It's not like she was strange. She was just quiet. Despite the rumors spreading about her being a delinquent and being violent, she never once laid a hand on any student. She always looked cold, as if not caring to what others think and say about her, but at the same time, there was warmth in her eyes that clearly expressed that she cared about others. After seeing that look on her eyes, I became interested.

So whenever I went to the bathroom or passed by her class, I couldn't help but take a glance at the windows. 'What was she thinking? What was she doing?' I couldn't help but wonder. Though a lot may see me as someone who likes her, I think not, I am just curious about the reason behind her actions. I mean, why would students spread rumors about her in the first place? Is it because of her surroundings?

There was one time that I got the opportunity to walk by a playground, and that was the most unforgettable memory I had of her. (L/N)-san had her back turned, but I could see that she was carrying the kids, helping them to the slides, swings and seesaws. They were all laughing, except for her who was just relishing the happiness of other people. She was just smiling, as if she was glad to be existing.

I remembered myself being in so much awe that I sat and stared by the entrance of the playground as I silently watched them enjoy the presence of the rumored delinquent (L/N) (Y/N). She was amazing to be honest, and I am glad that I was able to see that side of her. I was punching myself in the back in pride for not believing the rumors that was spread about her. I saw her as a strong person, one who didn't waver under the pressure of others.
