I hooked my arm around Hawk’s neck, he didn’t even look confused as I leaned up, closing the gap between the two of us, finally kissing him. Kissing Hawk was… more than what I had imagined it, and yes I had thought about it. Kissing Hawk was the happiest feeling I had ever felt.

We heard distant cheering, making the two of us pull away from each other. Of course, our gang being the… gang that it was, had gathered around on a nearby hill, looking down over us, all cheering and clapping

“Fucking finally!” Miguel shouted down at us

I let out a breathy laugh, dropping my head away from everyone. Hawk slowly got up, smiling like he was walking on air. He reached down to help me up, holding me around my waist

“We never can get two seconds of alone time huh?” he smirked

I burst out laughing, hunching over, keeping an arm around his waist. I couldn’t believe I had done that, but from his reaction, I’m glad I did.

“Alright! Back to the game!” Dad called out.

The group of kids who still had lived all dispersed. I looked up at Hawk, who was still grinning, I was too.

“I’ll see you when it’s over princess” he winked before jogging off

I chuckled, grinning like an idiot and running off as well

After a few minutes I had made my way back through the woods, I had ran into a few more kids and taken their headbands. I came into one clearing. It was a little nerve wracking not knowing how many people were left. I ran into someone, of course, it had to be Miguel, we both quickly backed away from each other, I was still grinning.

“You look happy” he nodded

“... maybe” I shrugged

Someone came running over to us, it was Hawk. He gave me a wink, which I had to shake off. Focus Harley.

“Finally, a worthy opponent” Hawk grinned

“So you’re the one who trashed Miyagi-Do” Miguel’s face fell on Hawk

I sighed, I guess he found out. I looked between the two of them, the tension felt real. It didn’t feel so much like a game at the moment.

“They’re the enemy” Hawk stood his ground “I had to put them in their place”

“So that means you had to trash their dojo and steal the medal of Honor?” Miguel reiterated

“What do you care? Just cause you still have a thing for Sam doesn’t mean I have to go soft”

Oh no, I can’t see this ending well. Please just be the game, please just be the game.

“I’m not soft, and this isn’t about her” miguel grumbled

“Yeah, sure it isn’t” Hawk scoffed, reaching into his shirt and pulling out the medal “You want the medal so bad? Come and take it”

“Harley, whose side are you on here?” Miguel asked, I guess for clarification

“Oh no, hell no. I’m not choosing between my two best friends” I shook my head

“Guess it’s a free for all then” Hawk grinned

“Just don’t go easy on her now that you two are with it” Miguel couldn’t help the tiny grin on his face, giving me hope that the game was still only that

“He better not” I smirked

“Oh don’t worry, I won’t” Hawk assured.

We all set up, all running into the middle of each other at once. Usually in a multi person fight, more than one person was working together, which meant you didn’t have to watch your back. But it was all or nothing now. Your back was always turned by default. We used the trees around us to jump at each other. It was an interesting advantage. Miguel had Hawk pinned on the ground, jabbing him in the chest, I ran at them but Miguel round housed me in the face and I fell back.
