At the dojo Miguel was going off about trying to figure out something nice for his date- or, not date, with Sam. I was getting more and more annoyed by the second.

"I need something romantic, but not too romantic..." he explained

"You could take her to get tattoos" Hawk offered

Aisha and I chuckled

"What?"

"Actually... that'd be badass. I would love that, just saying" I smiled

Hawks stood up, starting to undo the belt for his gi.

"I know a guy, just hooked me up with this bad boy" Hawk's grinned, turning around and showing us the ridiculous hawk tattoo on his back

"Oh shit"

"That is badass" we all gawked

"Right? Fourteen hours in the chair" he flexed making me laugh

"Wait, are your parents okay with that?" Aisha asked

"Oh- they have no idea. Definitely gonna have to wear a t shirt until college, probably longer... please don't tell them"

It was moments like this that made me smile. Hawk was amazing, but when little Eli would shine through for a few seconds, it reminded everyone that, we were just human.

"Uh... Any other suggestions?" Miguel sighed

"Don't look at me. Sam and I used to be friends. We're not anymore" Aisha sighed

"Yeah, I'm surprised you're so in love with her considering how much she's bashed Harley all these years" Hawks added

"Okay but I need your help- wait what?" he spun his head to look at me "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I- you were just- you were really happy. I didn't wanna be the one to fuck that up" I cringed "It's fine, honestly. As long as you never stop being my friend, it's alright with me"

"Never" Miguel assured.

Miguel leaned over to me and Hawk, doing our special fist bump for the three of us.

"Fine um..." Aisha spoke up "I know that she likes chocolates, and astronomy"

"I can work with that" he nodded

"Banned!?" my dad shouted from his office "What are you talking about?"

Miguel and I gave each other one look before rushing over to the office. My dad was on the phone with someone.

"Uh oh"

"No, you don't ban me. I'll ban you!" Dad slammed the phone down on the receiver

"Sensei what's going on?" I asked

"There's a lifetime ban on Cobra Kai from entering the tournament" my dad exclaimed

"Wait what!?"

"How is that fair?"

"It's not" my dad grumbled "There's nothing I can do about it"

"What happened to uh- never accept defeat?" Miguel questioned "there's no 'no'?"

"That was girl advice, this is different, this is the real world. There are rules"

"Wait, that was your girl advice?" I questioned my dad

"Since when do you care about the rules?" Miguel scoffed "We don't take no for an answer, you said that, you gotta fight this!"

"You know that? You're right" dad nodded standing up "I'm gonna go down there, and beat their asses"
