(Main Character POV)
I clutched my head because, at that moment, I felt a searing pain in my head. I screamed in agony as the noise and pain were increasing by the second. The church was now becoming more unstable, with cracks shooting through the walls and ceiling. I was gripping my head so tightly that my hands were losing circulation. Flashes of images appeared in my mind. They were so fast that I couldn't decipher them.
"REMEMBER!" I heard my bride scream, and suddenly the images were becoming more vivid. Then, with a swiftness, I was pulled into one of the pictures. I was in a hotel room. Rose petals covered the floor and bed. The shower was running, and the stream engulfed the room. I heard giggling, and then my bride ran out of the bathroom. Her smile was so big. I couldn't help but break out smiling too. She made herself comfortable on the bed and let out a light sigh. She was beautiful. Her head was covered with dark kinky curls that reached all the way down past her collarbone and spread out across her shoulders. Her eyes were a shade of brown that would remind one of a cup filled with hot chocolate decorated with dark cinnamon swirls. Those swirls could cause one to become hypnotized in seconds. Her skin was a rich dark brown that highlighted bronze as the light beamed down on her. Next, my eyes made it down to her lips, which were so plump and enticing that I almost didn't catch that they were moving.
"Baby, would you hurry? I'm getting old here!" she teased. Her voice was so alluring that my feet were moving in their own towards her. Then a chuckle snapped me out of my trance. A man that looked exactly like me came out of the bathroom. I watched as he strode over to our wife. He bent down to kiss her, and I could feel the love she had for him. Things began to get hot and heavy very quickly. I was in the middle of turning around to leave when I saw a flash of silver. I looked more closely and realized that the memory of me had a long kitchen knife in his hand. In a panic, I tried to run towards them, but I couldn't move. It was like my mind shut down my nervous system, making me immobile.
"BABY! WATCH OUT!" I screamed. At least, I tried to, but no matter how loud I got, nobody seemed to be able to hear me. So deep into the kiss, my wife didn't even notice how the atmosphere changed. I watched as memory me leveled the kitchen knife to my wife's heart. Then, with the most graceful thrust and punishing kiss, he pushed the knife into our wife's heart.
"NOOOO!" I roared. Our wife gasped and stared at memory me with wide eyes. Suddenly, I felt something dripping down my hands. I looked down, turned my hands, so my palms were facing upward, and realized it was blood. I shut my eyes, and when I opened them again, I was under my wife, holding the knife I stabbed her with. I watched her blood trail down my hands. Everything was starting to make sense now. The dream, the important message, and the constant feeling of loss. I shrugged her body to the other side of the bed. Tears entered my eyes and spilled over, making them run down my face. I felt conflicted as I shut her wide eyes and whispered, "Now, you're safe."
As intense as before, a bunch of images began flashing through my mind. I saw myself dreaming about the one dream I hoped to never dream about again. I saw memories of my now-dead wife and me. Things were becoming chaotic, very fast, and my emotions were running rapidly. I felt love, fear, anxiety, and relief. Everything was now coming in flashes, and I had no control. Then I started to hear distant voices along with a ringing in my ears.
