10 years later
The light flickered in the depths of Saoirse's room. The bedroom that held her darkest secrets with walls that held her whispers. She would whisper to her wall on the darkest of nights. Loyal thoughts ran through her mind as her gray eyes stared at her white ceiling, tracing the curvy lines with her eyes.
"She's gonna hurt me" Soarise frowned and rolled onto her left side.
Soarise thought about her love Helen. She has been on Soarise's mind ever since they first met. It was a while ago and honestly Helen doesn't know Soarise exists. Helen is a beautiful FBI agent with blonde hair and ocean eyes. The ideal person. The one everyone notices but never truly sees. At least that was until Saoirse.
Soarise saw the depth behind Helen's eyes.

The laws in this city were made by Helen. In this city being loyal would end in punishment. More
specifically torture then being left for dead. The government did not truly care about their people. In fact they knew loyalty could not be avoided. They want people to break the law so they can depopulate our city. Lucian is the fifth city to go through this torturous process. Yet there are nine thousand nine hundred and ninety five cities left.
Their goal is to depopulate most of the world. Helen has said the main reason is because of global warming but we all know the real reason. The world was overpopulated, the population sitting at nine billion. The maximum population is two billion.
The once white fluffy clouds that covered the sky were now gray and full of sut. The tall buildings we were known for are no longer visible to the naked eye.
The absence of loyalty created an untold rule that we were no longer allowed to use our phones or any type of technology. The government said it shows a subconscious form of loyalty.

10 years earlier
Saoirse's heart pounded as her legs carried her through a dark alley. The grime on the walls moving quick around her. The smell of alcohol filling her nostrils. Her eyes blurring with tears.
"Saoirse, get back here, now!" Helen screamed in absolute anger.
"No, I will not go to jail for loving someone" Soarise whispered to herself praying no one heard.
As Soarise rounded the counter she nicked her hip on a garbage can causing her knees to hit the ground. She felt the sizzling pain go through her knees up to the top of her back. The pain extracted a scream from in between her lips. This pain was not because of the garbage can. She had been tasered by one of the agents. The one who she's fighting for. Helen. Saoirse quickly dropped fully on the ground. Her body jolting with every shock of electricity.
"I'm sorry Saorise" Helen said plainly "I didn't want to do this"
"BS" Saorise struggled. "You want-" jolt "to hurt us' Saorise finished.
Helen let out the darkest chuckle she has ever heard and took Saorises jaw in her hand, squeezing so she would look at Helen.
Once Saorises eyes were on her her lips pulled into a smirk and brought Saorise's ear close to her lips.
"Let the games begin" Helen said, slamming Saorises head into the ground. Her world going black.
The next thing she knew she was being thrown into a dark black van, the divots digging into her back. A groan escaped from in between her lips. She clenched her jaw and tried to move her legs. They weren't moving. The panic set in. Her breath quickly inhaling and exhaling, her heart pounding in her chest cavity, and a buzz of numbness taking over her body.
"Help me...Please" Saorise begged, trying to rip the duck tape from her wrists.
"Saoirse, stop talking," Helen said with no emotion.
She had no idea why but she felt the ping in her heart from Helen's words. This wasn't the Helen she thought she knew.
"Your loyalty to the government has been compromised," Helen interrupted.
"We have been keeping an eye on you from the beginning. You show loyalty to everyone and we can't let that happen."
Saorise took a moment to process the other woman's words.
"I do not" Saorise screams and moves around to try and get her point across.
This moment made the bottom of her black converse hit the side of the van. Making her whole body quickly tense and the sudden feeling like her dark jeans were too tight even if they fit her perfectly this morning.
Helen and another FBI agent chuckled at Saorises discomfort.
"Calm yourself before you hurt yourself. We will be arriving at the arena soon so be ready" Helen smiled and looked at Saroise through the rear-veiw mirror.
Saorise began to panic even more. The arena is were the dying happened, were all the torture takes place.
Her brain flashed with images of four years ago it was the day she was summoned to watch the torture happen. She was sixteen. She watched the man get hung up by his wrists and st**bed multiple times in his chest and stomach. (there are mentions of blood here). The blood would drip from the wounds onto the ground below. It was thick and clotting. Saorise never thought blood would be that dark and scary. (blood scene is over) In that moment her eyes would go wide and her hand flew up to cover her mouth and nose. The smell of him would linger through the crowd. Everyone would scream cries of joy at the sight of him falling to the ground once he bled out. Saorise got up to run but her old parents' firm hands would ground her to the seat. Their cold hands on either side of her shoulders. She had worn a blue tank top that day so she could feel the ice-like touch coming from the both of them.
Fear and panic took over all sense and she was once again in the black van. On the divited floor that was digging into her sore back.
"Glad to see you're back Saorise"
Saorise snapped her head to look at the front "what do you mean?"
Helen chuckled "You zoned out for a solid five minutes. What could you possibly be thinking about for that long? Your death?"
"No" She simply answered and went back to staring at the van's rusty ceiling.
