Kiku sat in the middle of the living room floor, in deep thought. It had been nearly a week since Melody had invited him to be in her group of friends, and he didn't really know how to feel about it. Of course, he was ecstatic he got to spend more time with Melody, considering they usually spent time together without her being aware. Not to mention, this brought him closer to those two wretched creatures she referred to as her "friends", so he could definitely find out their weaknesses. But then there was the fact that Melody didn't give him enough attention as he would've liked, and he knew it was all their fault. Gritting his teeth, he remembered how he almost slit Sammuel's throat with his lunch fork when he dared questioned why Melody had brought him over. But, being such the good negotiator and caring person she was, convinced Sammuel he was no threat.
"Not yet. But I will kill him one day," he muttered to himself, kissing the necklace she had given him the other day. He hadn't taken it off since she gave it to him.  But the three of them seemed so close, and he really wanted to show off to Melody. Which brought him to his current location: her living room. He had been planning this surprise since she told all of them at lunch her big news earlier that day.

"So guys, I have the biggest news!" Melody cheerfully exclaimed as she say down next to Kiku. Since the spot next to her was the only one available, he got to sit there, much to the protests of the other two. God, he hated them so much.
     "Shoot Mel," Janett instructed.
"Ok, so you know how my parents have been gone for the past couple of months on business?"
"How could we not know? You only complain about it every Friday," Sammuel teased.
"Yeah... But not this Friday! My dad called me Wednesday and told me he'd be off for a whole month! I was so happy, but then I got all depressed because my mom wouldn't be there. So he said he'd see what he could do. So then I just got a call yesterday from my mom, and apparently my dad convinced her boss to let her have a vacation too! They'll be here later today!"

He smiled at the memory of her happy face and vibrant hazel eyes. She was currently at the airport, which would be the perfect time for him to put his plan into action. He was already finished with the first part, but he had to admit it had taken him longer than he expected. He had to do the kitchen, living room, the hallway, the guest room, and worst of all, Melody's room. She was a pretty sloppy girl, but he didn't mind that at all. Besides, when they were married and living together, he'd take care of all the cleaning. Not to mention, he found some great collectables on her floor. And now he was currently on the second part, which was currently boiling on the stove. He decided some sushi with some nice meso soup would be a great meal to greet his future parent-in-laws with. But, in the middle of cooking, a horrible thought dawned on him. What if her parents didn't approve of him? Well, killing them would be his first option, but them how would Melody react to that? He'd have to try force first, it would seem. She was too close to her parents, for her own good in his opinion. Suddenly, the sound of a car pulling up snapped him from his thoughts.
"Oh, finally!" he cheered excitedly as he raced up the stairs, into Melody's room. He looked out her window, and that's when his suspicions were confirmed. He saw two cars in the driveway, one a silver minicooper and the other a white Toyota Corolla. He saw Melody jump out of the minicooper, go to the trunk, pull out a couple suitcases, and skip over to the front door. Soon after, he heard the opening of the front door.
"Yeah, I will! I'll just go put these up and grab something!" he heard her yell, followed by the sound of the door closing. She's coming! She's coming!
"What the heck? When did I turn on the stove? Oh no, I'm letting the stress get to me," she whined. He heard her footsteps coming up the stairs. She stopped inthe room across the hall, and then finally, she opened up the door to her room.
"Kon'nichiwa, friend," he greeted, giving the sweetest face he knew how. He expectantly looked at her, and he could've sworn she was going to faint right there. She was almost as pale as him.
"Friend, are you ok? You should sit down," he suggested, patting the empty spot next to him on the bed. She only replied with a hard gulp. He stayed silent for a moment, giving her a chance to think of a response. She must've been even more excited to see him than he thought! A little pale, though. Probably from the long trip.
"Kiku... How.... How did you get into my house?" she shakily whispered. He cocked his head to the side. Why was she asking such strange questions?
"Through the front door, of course. I think you left it unlocked. Such a silly thing to do," he innocently explained.
"Oh geez," was all she said. They sat there for a couple more moments in silence before he decided to break it.
"Did you see what I did? Look, you room is so much cleaner now. A much better improvement. Oh, and I'm almost finished with that meso soup. It's going to be delicious!"
