The said Kookie flashed a sweetish smile, eyes shying away in mild timidity. "You're an angel, Tae. You're really just perfect."
"You are too. Don't apologize for these things again. I'm your boyfriend. It's my job to comfort you and make you smile and happy. And I want to do these things. Especially to make you happy."
With Jeongguk lifting his heavy eyelids, their gaze met in mutual affection, gentle smiles veiling their faces. "I'm happy right now because you're by my side." He pushed a strand of hair behind his ear and held his cheek in a loving palm, devoting a while in cooing over each other, and finally sealing their ablaze feelings with a long, savory kiss.

The next time Taehyung awoke was in an empty bed with a pillow in his hug instead of his baby.
The slight pout drawing down the tips of his lips was a subconscious indication of his discontent as he flung the pillow out of his embrace with a complaining groan and rolled to his side, wanting to get out of bed, but a sharp pain in his bottom froze him up in his spot.
"What the fuck..." he murmured as he grappled to lift himself to a sitting position, his face wringing in pain every other second. "Thank God I don't have to go anywhere today." He managed to rise to his feet, although with much difficulty, and he shambled towards the bathroom.
The swelling on his cheek was still easily visible, just like the purplish tint covering it, but at least it wasn't worse.
He trod to the kitchen once he finished freshening up to make a cup of warm tea and loafed away on the couch for a while, watching morning shows.
Despite the pain, he did a thirty-minute program of yoga as it had been a while since he exercised, and thankfully, it helped to get used to the burning discomfort.
He also took a long bath to relax, and after he got himself up in a comfy outfit, a brilliant — as he thought — idea popped up into his head knowing that his roommates would be home in about an hour.
"I should cook something for all of us to eat!" He clapped his hands in tiny by his excitement, thinking about how grateful the boys would be if they came home and found a prepared lunch.
And especially since Taehyung rarely cooked a proper meal for himself without Jeongguk's help.
The burst of enthusiasm fizzled out as he rummaged around in the cabinets and fridge to see what ingredients they had left and didn't find enough to make anything. "I can at least go shopping then." He snatched the shopping list from the fridge's door and headed off to his room.
Just as he entered the hallway, the bell blasted out in the house, ceasing his steps and bringing bemusement on his traits. He crept closer to the door and hesitantly glanced through the peephole, his eyes bulging in shock right away.
What is he doing here?
The bell went off once more, startling him, and the gruff, rumbling voice that followed sent horrifying shivers down his spine.
"I know you're here, Kim Taehyung. Open the door."
A moment to digest the situation and beat back his dread was highly needed for the violet-haired boy, but making Haejun — his father wait even a second longer was off limits and he knew that the best.
He extended a shaky hand and slid the door open, keeping his head bowed to avoid eye contact. "W-what are y-you—"
He hushed up as his father gripped his chin and whipped his head up to examine his face. A few daunting seconds rolled by as his sparkling eyes wandered anywhere but him, and a muffled whimper seeped through his lips when Haejun shoved his head to the side, causing him to stagger.
