In the watch tower Superman, Batman, wonder woman, Flash, Hawkgirl, green lantern, and Martian manhunter sat at the council table. "Hey what's up guy?" Flash asked in his usual happy tone. "Been awhile."
"3 days ago an unknown object entered earth's Atmosphere broadcasting an unusually signal." Superman said as he pulled up an audio transmission.
"Hello this is ODST SGT Ryan of Angel squad. Can anyone hear me over? I am descending into the atmosphere. How copy?"
"After it landed in the Nevada area it once again tried making contact but this time it was encrypted." J'onn said as it brought up a scrambled audio.
"So why don't we send a team down to investigate?" Hawkgirl asked as J'onn brought up pictures.
"I sent Nightwing, supergirl, and the question in attempts to find anything this is what they found."

"What is that?" Green lantern asked as it shifted to the impact zone. In a 3 foot circle a 1 foot center deep crater and a set of foot prince walking away westward.
"Any concerning readings?" Batman asked as everyone seemed taken back.
"Batman asking a question? Someone pinch me I'm dreaming." Flash joked as Superman chuckled.
"Only thing strange was the readings from the technology and make of it." J'onn said as he brought up more pictures.
"It's equipped with technology that is more advanced than most today including built in propulsion system that seems to have already been engaged. Also it's made from materials that are not native to earth specifically." Superman explained pointing at the original picture. "One thing is obvious about this machine. Whoever came in it was prepared for a fight."
"Any word on who or what they are?" Green lantern asked as J'onn shook his head.
"The only thing we have that indicates something was in a small town being held captive by a gang reports came in with confusing statements." Superman explained before J'onn brought up police report.
With Sgt Ryan 2 day ago.
Sgt Ryan and Engie have been walking for a day now with no sign of life. Engie didn't seem bothered at all by the heat while Ryan was getting rashes in places where the sun don't shine. He luckily had some mres with him so hunger and dehydration never set in. It wasn't until midday that a small town came into view. Probably no more than 100 people. He smiled under his helmet as the image solidified. A few passers-by stared in disbelief at the duo as they entered town Sgt Ryan was used to the stares due to being an ODST. He was confused about the old architecture of the town being something from 550 years ago in the early 2000s. He pushed it off as he found a convenient store he recognized from history class. He took off his helmet feeling the cool breeze from the air conditioning blow down on him. He sighed heavily before looking at the clerk. He ran a hand through his short black hair and looked in the glass window. His Grey eyes devoid of color and emotion from years of service. His skin Sligh pale from lack of sun.
"Howdy." The clerk said staring in confusion. "What uh brings someone so heavily armed out here?"
"Classified." Ryan said as the cooing of the engineer caught their attention.
"What the hell is that?" The clerk asked.
"What never heard of an alien before?" Ryan asked dumbfounded by this man.
"Ain't no alien I've ever seen except on the news."
"Well at least you've heard of em." Ryan said looking around the store before seeing a newspaper. "Can I see that?" He asked pointing at it as the man shrugged handing it over. On the cover was a man dressed in blue and red flying with the headline Superman does it again. He continued reading before seeing a date. 2019 August 3rd.
"So seriously why are you out here?" The clerk asked as Ryan ignored him. "You part of some-" he never finished his sentence as the sound of screening tires and gunshots were heard. "Oh no. Not again." The clerk ducked under the counter frightened.
Sgt Ryan threw his helmet on drawing his SMG ducking low. The engineer cooed slightly before hiding in one of the aisles out of sight. Ryan pokes his head put of cover to see 20 heavily armed men rounding people up.
"ALRIGHT LADIEZ AND GENTLEMEN YOU KNOW THE DRILL!" Many of the townsfolk were on their knees or emptying their pockets.
"Insurgents most likely. Nothing I can't handle but gotta be careful of the hostages." Ryan mumbled slightly to himself as one of the men walked to the store joking about getting some payment in beer. Slinking back Ryan hid behind a soda machine aiming his SMG at the door waiting. Seconds passed as the man weilding an AR rifle entered only to drop to the floor. Ryan reached forward and dragged his kill out of site before looking around for a way up to the roof. The clerk noticed this and pointed to a back door opened just enough to show a ladder. "Engie come on." The ODST said quietly as the engineer floated over.
"MACK WHATS TAKING SO LONG?!" A gravelly voice called only to receive wind. Ryan quickly sprinted to the ladder climbing at impeccable speed thanks to his training. "I SWEAR IF YOURE ALREADY DRUNK!"
After arriving out in the blazing sun again he looks over the roof to see most of the men were sitting about not even paying attention. He saw the obvious leader standing on a pickup truck holding an rpg. "That belongs in a museum." Ryan muttered as the engineer cooed pointing a tendril across the way showing 5 men in police uniforms with old hunting rifles. "Patch me into their comms." The engineer nodded his head before seeing the man with a large cowboy hat answer his phone.
"Hello?" The man asked as Ryan responded.
"I'm across the way on the roof don't fire." He waved slightly as the cop tilted his head.
"The hell you doing over there son?" The cop asked as his men took up firing positions.
"Getting ready to take them out." Ryan switched to his railgun aiming it gracefully.
"We have to negotiate with them to see if we can save the hostages." The cop argued as one of the man ran out of the convent store shouting.
"I don't negotiate with insurgents." Ryan said before a loud bang was heard as an energy round shot from his rifle replacing the head of the hulking leader with a cloud of red mist. Every gang member stood still with fear before one by one they disappeared into a fine mist.
"SHIT OPEN FIRE! PROTECT THE PEOPLE!" Ryan heard the cop shout as the remaining 6 gang members jumped into cover. Shots rang out as the remaining members either surrendered or died like cowards. Satisfied with the results Ryan stood up shouldering the rail gun and jumping down off the roof.
"Well that was boring." Ryan muttered as Engie floated down next to him. "Thanks Engie." He said as the cop he called stormed up to him.
"ARE YOU INSANE?! YOU COULDVE GOTTEN THEM ALL KILLED!" He said as Ryan took off his helmet once again letting the cop look him in the eyes.
"One must be willing to take risks in war. Even at the cost of 1 life." Ryan said before going over to the corspe of the dead leader. He patted their pockets before feeling a wallet and keys. "Hm I'm more of a warthog guy but it will do." He then got in opening the door for the engineer who patted the cops head before floating in. They left the town behind in a cloud of dust as the cop couldn't help but feel sorry for the mysterious soldier.
