As the end of senior year was drawing near, none of the seniors wanted to do any schoolwork. They just wanted get the fuck out of high school and move on with their lives.

Luke felt the exact same way.

He was on his way to his last class of the day, swiftly maneuvering through the crowds in the brightly lit halls. His walk comes to a halt when somebody jumps in front of him.

"Jesus, Kat!" Luke exclaims, holding onto her with his free arm to make sure neither of them fall due to the abrupt stop.

"What? I'm just walking to class with you?" Katie laughs as they continue walking down the packed corridor.

They walk to class together in a comfortable silence, she was one of his best friends, they'd never be awkward.

Luke and Katie met in third grade. They've never separated since then. The pair have been through everything together. Ever since they've met they've just known they'd be best friends for life. He was also the only one allowed to call her Kat, she was called Katie by everybody else. It was something special for just the two of them.

There have been times where Luke and Katie haven't gotten along well, but it doesn't last long and then they were closer than ever again.

That's what Luke loved about them. Nothing would ever tear them apart.

"Luke, pay attention," Katie mutters, grabbing his arm and dragging him into the classroom. Luke had almost walked right passed it, not paying attention to where he was going.

Luke sat in his usual spot behind Katie, joining his friends, Calum and Michael, who sat next to Luke and Katie.

Luke was close with Calum and Michael, and he'd consider them as his best friends. He was closer with Calum, though. There was only one other person he considered as another one of his best friends, Ashton. Calum and Katie were the closest to Luke though, he's known Calum almost as long as he's known Katie.

Calum's always been there. Anytime he needed him. If Luke thought he couldn't go to Katie for something, though it wasn't that often, Calum always knew what to do.

"Luke, dude." Calum calls, snapping Luke out of his thoughts.

"What?" Luke asks, turning to face Calum in the seat next to him.

He sighs, "Finally. You coming to Ashton's party tonight?"

Luke nods, "Yeah, if Kat's down."

Katie hears her name, and quickly turns around, "I'm down. I'm always down. What am I down for exactly?"

"Ashton's party tonight." Luke replies. Since Ashton was older than them, he was out of school and also had his own place. He would have parties with college friends and some other people he knew. As part of the friend group, Ashton obviously let Luke and their friends come along.

"Oh, yeah. Of course." Katie giggles, before facing the front of the room again, class was about to start. Katie hated science class, but she did her best to try and pay attention. Though all she could think was I hate chemistry

Once class started, Luke pulled out his notebook to take notes. But minutes in, he was ripping a blank page out. Him and Katie tend to pass notes, since they've got caught texting more times than they have been passing notes. So the pair have stuck to passing notes.

'Kat, you sure you want to go tonight?'

Luke folded the paper before tapping Katie on the shoulder with it. She quickly grabbed it, a very quiet chuckle escaping her lips.
