Chapter 15: ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space
The discovery of how they might be able to somehow heal Noah's damaged heart using Liz's knowledge of regenerative medicine and science in the hopes that it could be used as a transplant for Max's damaged heart was a game changer for them all and had created new problems in their lives. One of them being that they needed a place for Liz, Kyle and Michael to be able to work in their different fields of medicine whether it was surgical, engineering or regenerative medicine since they knew that it had to be somewhere that their work would be protected and wouldn't be stumbled upon by the wrong people. Which was why Alex had called them all in the middle of the night to meet him at an abandoned old school in the middle of nowhere on the edge of town as he knew that it was best to set things up at night so that no one would get suspicious of a random van pulling up outside an abandoned building especially with what was inside the van. This is why Malia and Michael were currently waiting outside the abandoned school with baby Tally currently sleeping inside of the wrap that Malia had wrapped around her body over her white hoodie and put her in before she put her thick jacket

" are you sure she's warm enough in there?" Michael said worrying about their daughter as he peered closed to see her wearing a fluffy jacket over her onesie along with wool socks and a woolly hat
" she feels warm enough but if she starts feeling cold then I can wrap my jacket around her too" Malia said knowing she couldn't get mad at him since she liked seeing this caring father side of him
" maybe we shouldn't have bought her here, you know outside in the cold and in the middle of night" Michael said still worrying about their baby as well as he wasn't even sure that Malia should be here
" maybe not but it's not like we have a lot of choices, I mean it's not like we can get a babysitter at 1 in the morning so we can go out on secret alien missions" Malia said putting things into perspective
" true but I'm not so sure you should have come either" Michael said showing how protective he was becoming since Caulfield and since Tally was born as Malia had a feeling that they were related
" what I tell you when I was pregnant?" Malia said reminding him as she didn't like the idea of being benched from all things alien related just because she was now a mother as if it made her less than
" that it didn't mean that you weren't still badass and not to keep things from you because of it" Michael said smiling as he remembered that moment between them fondly as he knew her too well
" uh huh and that still applies now that Tally is here. If there's something alien going in then I want to be involved because if it concerns you and Iz then it concerns me too" Malia said knowing it was important to her too
" I know, I'm sorry. You just know how I worry about you and her now too, I don't want anything happening to either of you" Michael said knowing that what they were doing was dangerous and risky
