4.16| The Vicious Zombie King Chen Hua

Start from the beginning

His sister, who had killed him not once but twice.

It if weren't for those people, he wouldn't have become a zombie and no one would have rushed to kill him.

He had thought that in his second life, he wouldn't attract any attention to himself. He wouldn't arbitrarily kill people like he used to, and he would blend in with the humans and live a normal life that he always wanted.

He thought that was enough.

For him to survive in this world.

He just wanted to live.

Like a normal person.

Away from sight, and away from attention.

So what did he do wrong this time?

Why did they still want to kill him?

Why can't they just leave him alone?

"I feel tired. Fighting for my life when nobody wants me to stay alive." Chen Hua whispered, "I never knew staying alive would be so hard. Maybe I wasn't meant to be born in this world in the first place."

"That's not true." Zhi An interjected. "The world didn't abandon you, it gave you the second chance that you deserved. You didn't meet me in your first life, but you did in your second. Doesn't that mean something? It means that you can change your life trajectory and you might have a chance to meet more nice people..."

Chen Hua continued to listen as the young man blabbered on. The concern and sympathy in his eyes were pure and without any malicious intentions. But Chen Hua knew better.

He wasn't given the chance to relive his life.

He wasn't given the chance to meet nice people.

He was given the chance to meet him.

To meet his soulmate that he didn't get an opportunity to in his last life.

Zhi An was the gift given by the world.

"But don't worry, I'm not like those people." Zhi An's calm tone rang in his ears.

Although the young man was weak, his eyes were currently full of life and determination. "I can imagine the pain that you must have been through—every plea for help was a grasp for the very last hope; however, reality had injured you time and again." There was sympathy in Zhi An's gaze, and he raised his head to look at the man's eyes, "I know you've been waiting for someone to lend you a hand, and perhaps if someone had stepped forward, you'd have the hope to face life. I understand what you're doing, and I know what you're feeling. I don't ask that you trust me fully, but I ask that you give yourself a chance, and me a chance."

Zhi An reached out his hand, "They didn't help you, but I will. They abandoned you, but I won't. They won't save you, but I will."

When Chen Hua heard his words, the hand that he placed inside his pockets trembled violently. He blankly watched the young man in front of him, the calm in his blood-shot eyes completely collapsed.

I knew it. I knew that he's my gift. But it's not fair...

Zhi An looked up after he didn't hear an answer, and saw that Chen Hua's face was covered in tears.

"I always...", he whispered. His voice broke slightly from the overwhelming emotions, "I always wanted someone to say that to me."

Chen Hua knew that apart from his parents who had died, there wasn't anyone who would give their love and attention to him. It had been years since he felt someone would be so gentle and caring to him.
