SONG OF THE DAY :

. . . . . .

"explain."

"i will later. let me just . . ."

youngho entered the bathroom behind chia as it was the first hideout-able thing close to the entrance, giving her no time to protest.

while scanning the halls outside for a second or two, her eyes laid on her worn out yellow converses outside the door. she remembered leaving them outside for when she was tipsy last night. thank god they're still there. she hurriedly snatched them to hopefully have enough time to lock her door.

to her dismay, a man in his late 40s with a receding hairline and sweaty sideburns blocked the remaining space of the with his foot, looking as if steam was blowing from his ears.

"where is he?"

"e-excuse me?"

"the boy."

"i know no boys around here, sir."

he fixed his gaze on the bathroom, her already panicking internally. the panic grew even more whe she realized there were no clicks heard when youngho entered it, meaning it was most likely unlocked.

"no!" she slapped his hand away, failing to not look utterly suspicious.

"are you hiding something, lady?"

chia rolled her eyes at how he referred to her thinking he had so much class, crossed her arms, and leaned on said door.

everyday a middle-aged man tests me. every. day. goddammit.

"it's empty," she replied. "and i don't even know you. why would i allow you inside my bathroom? creep."

"why would you not if you're confident it's empty? it's not like i'm gonna judge you for dirty walls."

"no is a no."

nevertheless, he persisted, his hand finally above the knob.

"move, lady. or it's gonna be messy."

feeling like it was the last possible thing she could do, she decided to put her knowledge from the amount of headache inducing legal dramas she's watched to the test.

"article 525 and article . . . 630 . . of the criminal code. yes. if you go inside i can sue you for trespassing and threatening," she made up, hoping she sounded convincing enough despite the stammering. "my— my dad's a well-known prosecutor in japan. he can get you indits— indicted for that in no time. i'll call him right now."

sonehow, it worked. she received no other response than a dirty look and an irritated mutter of 'nerd' under his breath. afterwards, he just walked away empty handed.

soon, the sound of his heavy footsteps that were audible even from meters away disappeared, giving her the chance to open the much protected door to see the boy he was looking for.

"what the fuck?"

despite her noticeable longing for his explanation, youngho had his focus on other things. "are those even the numbers for those articles?"

"maybe not."

"is your dad really a prosecutor though?"

"he's a drug addict so close enough."

he was largely taken aback. "i—"

"i'm just great at bullshitting my way out of things, okay? stop questioning."
