Last Summer // George Weasley

31. Day One

Saturday morning the three of you were up before the sun sitting quietly in the kitchen. Sipping your hot coffee you watched the steam roll off of your cup and billow into the air. You were tired but your excitement far outweighed it
"I'm going to go shower" you told George and kissed his head on your way out. You walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind you and started the shower. Today was the day. You climbed in and let the hot water pour over you. You couldn't let the boys down. You washed yourself and then started working the shampoo through your hair as your thoughts wandered to what the day could hold. Ginny had written back right away that she would tell everyone at school for you and she'd be the first one there when we open. You turned the shower off and dried yourself and hurried across the hall to your room before getting dressed in your Weasley Wizard Wheezes t-shirt. You brushed your hair and applied a small amount of makeup trying to look professional as possible.
When you came out of the room the sun was finally rising and George and Fred were both ready to head down
"Well let's go then" Fred said when he saw you. George grabbed your hand and held you back a moment before kissing you
"I love you so much, none of this would have been possible without you"
"I love you too George but this....all of it, is you"
The two of you hurried down the stairs and joined Fred. George and Fred walked around talking about each product together and you swept the floor up making sure there wasn't anything out of place. At 8 o'clock sharp the boys turned the sign in the window to open and they propped the door open so people would see. Moments later Ginny, Harry, Ron and Hermione stormed into the store
"Samantha" Ginny squealed and ran into your arms
"Ginny!" You smiled and hugged her back
"Oh I've missed you we have so much to catch up on"
"yeah now isn't the time" George told her which earned an eye roll from Ginny
"Tonight" you told her and she nodded before walking off to explore the shop.
You George and Fred had been alerted immediately of the news of Dumbledores death a few days ago but you hadn't spoken to any of your other friends since.
People started to trickle in the front door and didn't seem to stop. You looked down as you rung up a customer and it seemed that when you looked up the whole shop was packed. You had a line to the front of the store and you caught George's eye and smiled as he winked in your direction.
You worked furiously for the rest of the day checking people out, cleaning up any messes and helping in any way possible. At the end of the day when the final customer left and Fred closed the door and turned the sign to closed you and George collapsed on the floor.
"That. Was. Amazing" George said
"Beyond amazing" Fred added walking over and sitting on the floor next to George
"You alive over there Samantha" George asked
"Barely" you laughed
The three of you sat on the floor still overcome with joy from how the first day went
"I think I'll need to adjust those order schedules" you told the boys "we'll need more merchandise much sooner than I had anticipated"
"Wicked" George laughed
You finally picked yourself up off of the floor and headed to the stairs
"We better clean up before everyone gets here in a bit" you told the two on the floor.
"I call shower after you" Fred said trying to stand up but being pulled back by George
"No me" he shouted while Fred tried to push him away from him
"Let go of me" Fred groaned and George tried to hold his brother down
"Never" George pushed Fred back and jumped to his feet running for the stairs. You took off trying to avoid George as you made a break for the bathroom narrowly getting inside before him, locking the door.
"Come on love let me in" George begged from the other side of the door
"No George you know only one thing will happen if I do that and we don't have time"
You quickly showered and changed into sweatpants and a tshirt and headed out to the living room when George sprinted into the bathroom to shower.
"Really getting dressed up for our guests" Fred laughed looking at you
"Hey I'm cozy" you said sticking your tongue out at him
"That's definitely one way to put it" Fred teased
"Whatever Fred" you said heading over to the kitchen pulling out cups and alcohol, pouring yourself some firewhiskey
"Mind pouring me a cup" Fred asked from his spot on the couch
"in your dreams Weasley"

After both of the twins showered your friends started showing up first Ginny then Lee then the trio, the only one still missing was Angelina. You poured everyone a drink and you stood around the kitchen table
"To George and Fred" you shouted hitting your glass against your friends
"And Samantha" the twins said in unison
"And Samantha" everyone echoed you took another sip from your cup keeping your eyes on George as you did. Angelina knocked on the door and Fred hurried to let her in, as you turned the volume up on your stereo music floating out. You plopped onto the couch in between Ron and Harry putting your arms around both of them
"Miss me boys" you asked a grin on your face
"Oh yeah loads" Harry said with a small chuckle  Ron just took a long sip from his drink avoiding your eyes contact
"Awe Ron is too emotional to even tell me" you laughed and kissed his cheek making him turn red
"Hey stop hitting on my girlfriend" George called from the kitchen
"I wasn't -she -I didn't" Ron stammered looking nervously between you and George making Harry burst out in laughter.
"We're only kidding ronniekins" you Cooed finishing off the rest of your drink, your third drink. You stood up form the couch slightly wobbly on your feet and made your way over to the kitchen to pour yourself another drink
"Another drink love?"
"Yeah so?"
"Well I think your boss might be expecting you at work tomorrow" George laughed
"Maybe if I treat him well tonight he'll let me get away with it" you whispered in George's ear making his eyes grow wide
"Who knows" he shrugged "you'll just have to see"
You laughed and finished getting your drink before heading out to the living room. Ginny was dancing around singing to the song on the radio
"I crashed my car into the bridge, I watched, I let it burn"
"I threw your shit into a bag and pushed it down the stairs" you joined in the singing and dancing
"I crashed my car into the bridge" you sang in unison
"....." you jumped onto the coffee table "I don't care, I love it" you pulled Ginny up with you the two of you dancing together
"I don't care" your friends laughed and danced around you two
"I got this feeling on a summer day when you were gone I crashed my car into the bridge, I watched, I let it burn"
George grabbed your hand pulling you off of the table and into his arms as he danced around
"You're from the 70s but I'm a 90s bitch! I don't care, I love it, I love it"
You spent the rest of the night dancing around with your friends having the time of your life.

I understand the events of dumbledores death and other things to come did not happen Fred and George's final year at hogwarts but the following year. For the sake of the story I'm basically skipping a year!
