"Take a seat," my mom gestured for me to take a seat on my own bed while she pulls a chair from my study table.

She sighed and looked at me intently.

"I didn't mean to intrude, but a while ago, when I was cleaning your room, I found these on top of your table," she then gently placed envelopes in front of me

My chest tightened as if my heart had stopped beating, I looked at the envelopes but did not respond but merely looked at her, nodding in indication for her to continue.

"I didn't read nor open them because that's your privacy but I couldn't help but notice that name," her eyes darted on one of the envelopes with Asahi's name and last name written on it

And with a disappointed face, she asked "How?"

Sure, mom, I could ask you the same thing, how did you find those treasured letters when they were hidden in the depths of my closet?

"At the masquerade ball, he was there," I admitted quietly, looking away from her piercing gaze

"You know that if this was someone like us, I would've openly allowed you to sneak out and go see him behind your father's back," she lectured, the worried tone still not disappearing from her voice

"How is he so different from us?" I asked coldly, daring to look at her eyes directly

"They are your colonizers! Your father fought for this country's freedom from them. I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate his eldest daughter running off with the exact same enemies," she exclaimed, standing up from the seat

She sighed then composed herself once again, she sat back on the chair and clasped her hands together

"Love it is, I know. But what's worst is he's a prince, for heaven's sake!" she said, her face contorted as if holding back her overreactive tears

"How-," I was supposed to ask how she knew since in all of the letters, we both wrote Hamada Asahi and it was only the two of us who knows that exact name

"Hamada?" she said sarcastically

"Only Royal-bloods can have the name Hamada! Really, now, Areumin? Do you think I'm such a fool?" she asked rhetorically, I flinched at the sudden rise of her voice

"Maybe if he was a completely different person then he could've been the one for you. But he's a prince, he doesn't belong in our world. Anytime he gets tired of hiding and escaping to see you, he can just go back to his comforts and riches, to where he truly belongs." Her tone fell again as if she was feeling my pain for me

"This is the time when you say goodbye," she patted my shoulders then went out of my room,

Right after the door clicked close, I fell into my bed, crying painfully while reminiscing the fresh moments we just had.

It was just a while ago when he told me that he'll wait for me but all so suddenly I'll have to say goodbye.

"Yoshi!" I cried out his name in between sobs,

"What did you do?" I fired at him, he avoided looking into my tear-filled eyes

"I already told you that this will have to be our last," he defended

"But exposing the letters and letting my mom find out? Oh, don't even get started with the whole 'I did not put them there' excuse because I know damn well you did! You were the only one who could possibly know where I put those letters!" I yelled at him, forgetting about the existence of other people in this household
