*top wing cadet birds to be exact lol

It's not much of a guide, nor a step by step tutorial. Idk what it is, a process? I did try to make one in mid 2021 but then never finished it :v

tbh I kinda thought of not posting it, because my artstyle isn't consistent and I'm still figuring it out sometime. but since it's been asked for a while now, mainly by w0o0ody1000, I'll just upload it anyway :v . sorry it took so long but I finally made it ahaha-

not good at explaining but I'll try :>

note: this is from 2021. my drawing style has changed a bit now, there might be inconsistency.

each of the cadets' face. But, I don't actually follow it all the time lol. it's just an attempt to differentiate all of them

(if referring to the actual show, Swift has the smallest beak, Penny and Rod look similar in size, then Brody with the biggest beak)

Now here is more recent one ->

𓆩★𓆪 HEAD 𓆩★𓆪

Probably the easiest part

Probably the easiest part. Drawing a circular head is usually fine too! But I usually draw with making it slightly wider halfway down the head, this makes the head have more figure. You can use the same method of drawing chibi heads, to determine the facial structure.

You can also alter the width and stuff for variety of head shapes. :>

• For me, more round-ish heads are good for child/small characters. Longer and maybe more refined chin shape will make the character look older.

𓆩★𓆪 BEAK 𓆩★𓆪

A bit difficult to explain lol

A bit difficult to explain lol.

Either you can draw triangles (like the drawing from 2021) by combining acute triangle (upper beak) and obtuse triangle (lower beak), or you can try stylizing it by making it more squiggly (like in this recent version)

• The lower beak is drawn shorter and stretches to the corner of the beak.

• The size and shape depends on the bird species. Sometimes the size is broader in adult birds too. There are many ways to draw the beaks, but I'm only showing the cadets here.

tbh, you can search for better beak tutorials than this haha

Well, this is kinda just drawing the canon designs

Well, this is kinda just drawing the canon designs.

...... I don't really know how to explain. so here are some tips(?) instead:

• Having reference is always good! If you are still leaning how to draw them, using screenshots from the show and such can help you observe their designs and understand the general structure.

• Once you are familiar with the designs, you can experiment and see how you can draw it in your own style and comfort. You don't have to accurately draw them everytime ^^

• You can also use other references to draw the accessories, such as Brody's hat and Penny's  headband.

The spacing between the eyes and beak play a role in making the face look right

The spacing between the eyes and beak play a role in making the face look right. You can pretty much use any sort of style for the eyes; anime, cartoony, black dot, etc. depends on your preference! This is just how I draw eyes in general. The eyebrows are also more stylized and not that accurate to canon.

𓆩★𓆪 HAVE FUN! 𓆩★𓆪

I've tweaked their designs a bit to make them more stylized, especially Rod

I've tweaked their designs a bit to make them more stylized, especially Rod. I think his design is way too simple in comparison to the other cadets. While it's not inherently a bad thing, I just like how he looks with the feather fluffs :>

Then you will realize I don't actually follow this process all the time lmaooo. Even the steps are different each time, sometimes I'll draw face first before the heads. There's no right way of drawing 'em, and the variety of styles is what makes art interesting !

Practice consistently, use references and tutorials online, watch videos and tips from experienced artists, experiment with different styles/ brushes/ media (no matter traditional or digital) and remember to be proud of your progress and creation~

Not sure if this would be helpful but yea, hope it is :v Bye bye now
