Katara sat on one of the balconies of the southern Air Temple, her and Aang lived there for now, waiting for Cranefish town to stabilise and have a house on their own...she waited impatient that moment since she didnt have a place to call home for too long, a home to raise their children and live happily together...she closed her eyes as she breathed the fresh air that caressed her hair, Katara loved the Air Temples, she could smell history in this air, she could smell the children that played together just there 100 years ago, the fruit pies that Monk Gyatso made on that balcony, she caressed her stomach...she hoped that her child could feel it too, the history and the fresh air that traveled around the building since that morning.

As she continued feeling the fresh imbrace of another gust of wind, Aang footsteps approached.

"enjoing the fresh air from north?"

"hmmhm" Katara hummed in response, her eyes closed

Aang smiled, seeing his wife finally relaxing after a long time, it was a rough time lately, full of meetings and traveling, establishing a nation wasnt an easy task and they were months that they had to deal with 90 year old politicians about stupid arguments as "why I dont want a dirty earth bender on my land" and "those fire savages have no right to step on my territory"

He made his way next to her, sitting on the balcony as well, he began admiring the view of the mountains in front of him, he sighed turning to see Katara still in her thoughts.

"I finished cleaning the meditation patio, now every lost airbender has a little tree to rest the eternity under" he looked down, Kataras eyes shot open hearing his words.

"Aang, I- do you want to talk about it? we can-"

he looked at the view again, "nah, we already talked too much about it..." he weakly smiled "theres no need to dwell on the past..." his eyes met hers and his gaze fell on her belly

"...I just want to focus on the future" he placed a hand on her stomach but felt something, Katara winced in pain.

"I- oh my spirits! Did you felt that!?" Aangs eyes were more brither than shes ever seen

"you bet" said she adjusting herself on her spot of the balcony

"its amazing!" Aangs eyes shined again "I felt a kick!" his smile grew wider as the words slipped out of his mouth.

"wonder how amazing is feeling one hit your bladder" she said in a sarcastic way, as the kicks continued

"hey buddy, your hurting your mom like this" Aang smiled once again placing his hand one more time, in a few moments the kicks stopped and Katara sighed, closing her eyes once again.

"this place is magical" she said in almost a whisper, feeling the fresh air again hit her hair.

Aangs smile became wider, Katara loved his home and his originis and it made him happier than ever...he began rubbing the rock of the balcony they were sit on as if was the most precious thing in the world.

"this was my little safe place as a kid" he chuckled while talking, Katara listenened closely as he spoke.

"If I fought with someone and got mad or just got yelled at for getting in trouble...I went here and just thought about...about anything" he smiled once again at the thought

He turned to Katara, who seemed totally interested from his tale, so he went on

"cause you see..." he pointed to the square under them
"the monks and the nomads usually were there talking and doing chores, so nobody could see me here...If I needed to ditch a lesson or to meditate in peace...there was this place, it was my little secret"

Katara smiled
and he shared his little secret with me- she thought smiling

Aang sighed, slightly clapping his hands together, turning to her
"what about you?"

Kataras eyes widened
"me? um..." she tried to remember
"well I-"
"I...honestly dont remember much before my mum died" her tone lowered as she spoke

Aang instantly regretted bringing that up but she continued

"well I didnt really think about you know..."me time" it just didn't seem a possibility to me, but i do remember that if Sokka made me mad or if I missed my dad...I would walk" she chuckled at the thought, Aangs eyes widened "literally, I would walk as long I was mad and I would go back home, one time Sokka made all his way out of the tribe cause I didnt turn back home for supper" she chuckled, Aang same

"I can totally see Sokka grumpily bringing you home"

"he was SO mad! He tought I was dying or something...*what if someone killed you!?*" she imited her brother laughing.

"talking about him...he sent us, well he sent you actually, a letter...did you find it?"

"sure thing, he asked me the usual, how I was and how was *his little warrior*" she smiled

"whos gonna tell him that he could be a girl?" she said

Aang chuckled "hes most excited person about the baby that Ive seen for now"

"yeah...hes almost overwhelming...but its sweet of him to care" she looked down, a nostalgic smile on her face

"you miss him dont you?"

"yeah- but were going to see him soon anyway right?"

"in about a month the city will be ready for the council to act and then...well be all together again" he smiled at the thought

"they are 7 months and a half that we dont see the others...am I wrong or its the longest time weve been apart?"

"mh I think so...its weird right?"

"yeah..." she sighed "were just growing up I guess" she chuckled "good, now I feel old"

"woah Im still 20 here"

"are you saying that Im old when Im 22?" Katara smiled in a simpatetic way

"no no! I mean- what do you mean?" Aang began panicking, Katara laughed

"Its so easy to mess with you" "oh and since youre so young just think there will be someone whos gonna call you *dad* in 2 months"

Aangs eyes widened "if you put it that way...well yeah were pretty old" he smiled

"its not always bad...well grow wise and we'll se our child grow..."

"Im the Avatar, I was born wise" Aang showed his best cocky grin

"well you sure didnt born modest" she retorted, "I think we can stop the laziness for today, my back is starting to hurt here, and I have to write back to my brother that is not gonna throw a boomerang at our child when its five for *train*" said she getting up

Aang chuckled jumping off the balcony to join his wife

as long as Katara was with him, he'll always have a safe place to go to...

A/N: hi guys! Ok um this chapter is just Aang and Katara talking, but I thought -why not?-  and for the walking thing, it may seem weird to some people but one of my friends does that and since I see Katara as this determinated and eventually really devastating figure I thought this could fit her, leave a vote, a comment and lmk what you think!
