Chapter 10

I woke up to Mitch, I look up at him “Were just pulling up to West Washington.” I looked out the window, it was dark outside. I pulled out m phone ‘8:45’ flashed up on the tiny screen

“Will your mom freak if your home late?” Mitch asked

“No not if I explain what happened.” I yawned, the train was coming to a stop, Mitch and I stood up and made our way to the doors, the doors and the cold air hit my body and I got goose bumps, I crossed my arms to keep myself warm, Mitch looked over at me “Are you cold?” I nodded, he took off his jacket and put it around me “Here” he smiled

“Thanks” I smiled, we started heading down the hill to the dirt road that we both lived on “I’m sorry about your car.” I felt bad for him

“Nah! Its fine, I’ll call the police tomorrow.” He put his hand on my shoulder, I felt like we were a couple but we were least than that! We got to Mitch’s house, he offered me inside so I took it. I walked into Mitch’s house to see a middle-aged couple, the man watching and football match, the woman was reading a book, she looked up “Mitch, your home? I didn’t hear you come home!” she smiled

“yeah about that mom.” He stuttered “EJ and I went into the city to go enjoy autumn and I didn’t lock the car properly and, mom the car got stolen.”  She stood up

“What?” she looked shocked

“I-“ I cut off Mitch

“It was my fault!” I lied, Mitch nudged me “I asked if I could drive the car there and I didn’t lock car properly, so you should blame me, I’m sorry.” I lowered my head

“so this is the EJ you have been talking about Mitch!” the man butted in

“Dad, not the time” Mitch said

“Look, I’ll pay for the car if that’s fine?” I smiled at Mitch’s mom, she smiled back

“EJ, you don’t need to pay. But I’m glad that you too made it home safe!” she hugged both of us

“Thanks” I released a cold sweat “Okay you guys have a good night! I have some issues to settle myself at home” Mitch walked me out to the front of his house “Thank you for a wonderful day” I kissed him on the cheek and walked out the gate and into the darkness, I looked back to see Mitch smiling and holding his cheek “we are more than friends!” I said smiling to myself
