𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢 (𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐙! 𝐟𝐟)

"Okay." She whispers, afraid that her voice will break if she speaks any louder.  They all stay frozen for a moment, not wanting to interrupt the obvious connection between the two when they hear heavy footsteps and more yelling coming their way.

"We're leaving," Kurenai commands, grabbing a tight hold of Juniper's wrist and ripping her away from Vael as she rushes to the wall on the far left. "Vael, hold off whoever comes in through that door for us while we leave!"

"Got it!" Vael obeys, turning to guard the door as the others make their escape.

Kurenai leads the way, heading over to what seems like just a wall before she swipes her wrist over it. It doesn't work at first so she continues to swipe her wrist, forgetting where the secret scanner is.

Unluckily so, the backup guards MALUS had sent arrive at that very instant, made clear by San who had started to panic gravely.

"Kurenai, could you please hurry it up now?" He begs, anxiety creeping into his tone which furthers Kurenai's frustration. Gunshots go off behind them and more yelling, but they pay it no mind, keeping their faith in Vael. A beeping sound suddenly comes from the wall when Kurenai slides her wrist across it a certain way and a part of the wall pushes open to reveal a dark pathway.

"Now, what is this?" San asks, both concerned and intrigued by the sight.

"It's our escape. Everyone that's worked here as a dancer gets a chip inserted into their wrist which allows them to manage the passages between the walls," Kurenai answers with a tight-lipped grin on her face, earning a skeptical look from the man. "The only thing is I don't know where the next scanner is and this door doesn't close until the next one on the other side opens. Do you trust me?"

"A lot more than I should, yeah." He jokes.

"Great! Then, cover me." She orders, shoving the gun she was using into San's hands and pulling Juniper along once the woman has secured her belongings. Dashing headfirst into the black darkness of the secret hallway, Kurenai is sure that San will have her back, focusing only on remembering the layout of the hall that connects the rooms.

She feels around in the dark, her sweaty hands patting down the cool walls around her for any disturbance that can show her where the scanner might be located.

"Um, I think we should get a move on because Vael just left through another corridor and the guards are onto us now," San warns the women, making Kurenai curse Vael in her head. She hears his gun go off a few times followed by empty clicking that signifies his gun has run out of bullets.

She hears him curse under his breath, her adrenaline shooting through her along with the anxiety of what could happen to him while he's unarmed.

"Guys—!"

After skimming the walls around her with her hands, Kurenai finds what she was looking for, sliding her wrist across that as well and watching the wall push outward and slide to the side. 

"San!" She yells at the man for him to step inside of the hallway, and he does it just in time, saving himself from getting trapped outside and rained on by a bunch of bullets.

The three of them tumble out into the next room. It's empty save for the furniture and whatnot, so they make a beeline for the door that leads outside. Kurenai cracks it open slightly when they get to it, stopping abruptly and cursing under her breath as she stands as still as a statue.
