Chapter 64

For a day everything was quiet. It was like calm before the storm. On the 7th day of ganesh pooja Vikram stopped Sumedh from leaving pooja ghar and told everyone else to leave them alone.

Sumedh felt his heart in his throat. At first Nikita was walking slowly and wasn't leaving but Agastya grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the room.

Everyone left from their and went to sit in living room. Only Vikram and Yogita devi were talking to Sumedh. Nayantara was looking anxious. Nikita was on verge to cry and Isha was squeezing her hand. Everyone else were just waiting for some news.

A servant came and informed that Vikram has asked Nayantara, Abhimanyu and Agastya to come.

Agastya took a deep breath. He patted on Nikita's back and went.

As Agastya entered he saw Vikram and Yogita devi sitting on their chairs and Sumedh standing in front of them with his neck lowered.

"Agastya aap in dono ko jante hai" Vikram said "Aapne unhe dekha hai sath me. Kya lagta hai aapko?"

"Kis bareme?" Agastya asked.

"Kaise hai dono sath me?" Vikram asked.

"Aajoba wo dono 15 saal se ek dusre ko jante hai. Jo bhi unhone decision liye usme se koi bhi bina soche samjhe nahi liya gaya hai" Agastya said "Maine picchle tin chaar mahine me jitna dekha hai usse main yeh bol sakta hoo ki wo dono ek dusre ke liye sahi hai"

"Picchle baar jab hum aaye the Mumbai me tab waha jo bhi chal raha tha wo ignore kar diya jaye?" Vikram asked.

"I don't think karna chahiye. Agar in dono ke basic thought process me hi difference hai toh fir aaj nahi toh kal wahi hoga jo pehle hua. Jhagda hoga" Abhimanyu said.

"Main janta hoo wo dono alag hai. Par jitne wo log alag hai usse kai jyada similar bhi hai" Agastya said "Unhe pata hai ki agar jhagda hua toh use picche chhod ke kaise aagey badhna hai"

Sumedh was banned from saying anything still he said "Aapko mere relationship ka assessment karna hai toh mere samne toh mat kariye. Main chala jaata hoo phir aap log baat kare"

"Sumedh. Bhai shant raho na" Agastya said.

"How many years you've been with her?" Abhimanyu asked.

"Five years" Sumedh answered.

"You know her for fifteen years?" Abhimanyu asked.

"Yes" Sumedh answered.

"Do you know her parents?" Nayantara asked "Because no one ever mentioned them"

"I know her father very well" Sumedh answered "Jab hum chhote the tab uski mamma aati thi par ab nahi aati"

"Kyu?" Yogita devi asked.

"Her parents got divorced" Sumedh answered.

"Really? She never told me that" Agastya was surprised.

"I know about it" Abhimanyu said.

Everyone looked at him in surprise.

"When Rajat called me telling about the election thing and why exactly Sumedh was in jail.. I enquired about her and her family" Abhimanyu said "Mujhe Rajat ne bataya tha ki wo rival candidate hai aur case usi ke side se hui hogi"

"Of course. Aap log ulta blackmail karne ke liye koi point dhoond rahe honge" Sumedh sighed.

"Nahi. Hum dekh rahe the ki agar kuch jyada hua toh uske sath kaun kaun ho sakta hai" Abhimanyu said "Turns out Agastya hi sabse pehla naam tha. Wahi toh reason tha jiski wajah se election itne brutal ban gaye"
