Eren's cuteness in that art 🥺

📜 Chapter 10: Lovers' madness 📜

Completely frozen on the spot, Levi's eyes were wider than ever and his palms were dripping sweat.

Cold sweat.

The awkwardness in the room was obvious as well as the ravenette's discomfort: his mother, trying to save the day, told him to approach the girl and go meet her.

Not that the young woman was excited, or anything.
Imagine getting married to a complete stranger, way older than you; imagine being part of a literal trade as a literal object.

She was scared, and that veil wasn't helping for sure: trying to see through it, she could barely tell people apart.

But she could detect her fiancè presence even if she couldn't see most of his features.

But she could tell he was short.
Yet taller than her.
This thing she was always the shortest adult in the room pissed her off a lot.

The two were now in front of each other, sweating cold as they didn't know who was supposed to speak first.

They both were just hoping it wasn't them.

...

Meanwhile, on the outside, in the front yard, Armin and Eren were busy collecting all of Levi's belongings, to then load it all on a wooden cart.

That morning Levi had wakened them up a bit earlier than usual, to instruct them on what they were going to do.

He wanted some of them to go clean, till it was completely spotless, his own house in Rome.
Two or three of them could stay there a little more, to get all his belongings and take them at the property.

He wanted to get out of his father's house as quickly as possible, but he didn't mention this to his servants.
He was going to rant about it to Eren, later.

Back to those two; as they were almost done with their job, the blonde pointed out that he thought it was going to rain soon.
And they both knew damn well how violent late-summer storms could be.

Was it the same in Rome?
They didn't know.
But just to be sure, they had to hurry.

As humid and hot as it was that day, they were both covered in sweat and panting: Armin, who was way weaker, was carrying the lightest things.

On the other hand, Eren had got bigger during the past months and couldn't fool anyone in being weak, going around with two arms that looked like he could "carry the weight of the globe on his shoulders like Atlas".

He didn't know exactly what that could mean, but Levi had said him those exact words and he just took it as a compliment.

📜 According to the Greek myth, Atlas was one of the Titans that had turned against Zeus in the Great War between the Gods and the Titans.

The Titans were defeated, and all of them punished by Zeus.

In particular, Atlas' punishment was to forever hold aloft the globe on his shoulders.

Our first vertebra is indeed call Atlas, as it looks like it's holding our skull just like the Titan held Earth. 📜

"We're almost done, finally."
Armin had sit on the edge of the cart and kept panting even while speaking.

"But it's going to rain soon..."
"Yeah, you're right... just... just stay here Eren, I'll be back with something to cover up all this stuff so it doesn't get wet."
