You sat awkwardly in between the heavily armed men. You looked at them but the one that had been constantly staring at you was looking directly at Thomas. You felt the little boy in your arms begin to calm down but he was still tense. You looked down and saw his dirty little teddy bear on the floor, he had probably dropped it when the van went over some bumps. Considering how terrified the boy was, you weren't surprised that his grip on your shirt didn't lighten.
You leaned down to grab the stuffed toy when one of the heavily armed men, not the one that was staring at Thomas, loaded his gun. You felt the child flinch, digging his head deeper into your safe embrace and clinging on to you tighter. You pointed to the teddy bear on the floor and the man looked up to his staring companion.
"Let her." The man said in a deep, almost familiar, raspy voice. It sent a shiver down your spine, but the armed man lowered his gun and allowed you to pick up the toy.
You rose back to an upright position. You took the bear and nuzzled it against the boy's cheek. He looked at you and you heard him slightly giggle. You smiled at him warmly and began tickling him with the stuffed bear.
"I think your teddy bear wants a hug." You smiled and the boy giggled again, softly taking his bear and hugging it tightly but still snuggled up against you.
You looked up to see Thomas and Brenda as they sat side by side against the back of the van. They stayed serious. You turned to look at both of the men.
"So who are you guys?" You asked but they didn't answer. "It's clear you aren't WICKED. But I can't tell if we should be afraid of you or not."
"Does she shut up?" The man who threatened you with a gun earlier asked and you glared at him.
"You kidnapped us. I have two of my people in here and a little four year old boy so I think it'd be beat for me to ask some questions." You told them and the man sighed with annoyance.
"You can't ask questions with a bullet in-"
"Tom." The other guy interrupted. "Don't."
Suddenly, the car came to a halt and you listened to the doors opening and shutting. Then, a banging came from behind Brenda and Thomas so they turned and watched as the door behind them opened. Another guy in a gas mask stood there.
"Get out!" His muffled voice ordered and the other two complied. You turned and watched as the door to your left slid open and the guy, Tom, forced you out of the van. You wrapped your arms around the little boy and carried him out. You, Brenda, and Thomas stood together and watched as the second van came pulling up.
Once it had parked you watched as it shook and there was yelling coming from inside. You jumped as the doors flew open and one of the masked men came flying out. Jorge came right after him, pushing the man against the ground and nailing him in the jaw. Brenda ran over to Jorge to make him stop as it was clear that he was looking for her.
It didn't take long for the others to come out. First it was Fry but when Newt jumped out, he took the nearest masked man, grabbing him by the shirt and slamming them against the van. There were flames building up inside the boy's eyes that you had never seen before.
"You bloody tell me what you did to her!" He yelled and you watched as the boy raised his clenched fist. You bolted towards Newt and jumped in front of him before he laid the blow.
"NEWT!" You yelled, grabbing the blondie's attention. He looked over and locked eye contact with you. You watched as the fire in his eyes went out and he dropped the man from his aggressive hold.
"(Y/n)?"
"I'm right here, okay? I'm fine." You said, taking one of your hands and resting it on his cheek while you kept the other one under the little boy so that he didn't fall out of your arms.
"Who's this?" Newt asked, looking at the small child with and you saw a slight smile go across the blondie's face. For some reason that calmed you.
"Don't know, just a little guy who got a little scared." You told Newt as he looked at the little boy in your arms. You now wrapped both your arms around him protectively and the boy rested his head on your shoulder.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me, I just saw them take you and..."
"Hey hey, it's okay, I'm alright, they didn't do anything to me. It's okay." You assured and Newt nodded but he still seemed tense, not himself.
"Alright, everybody relax, we're all on the same side here!" A muffled voice called that sent a shiver down your spine. It's familiarity was unfathomable. You turned and saw the red gas masked man stand in the front of your reunited group.
"What do you mean same side?" Thomas asked, shoving himself out of the grip of one of the men. "Who the hell are you?"
The man stared at you all for a second, then looking at you individually. He looked tense, maybe even nervous. Newt came up to stand directly next to you and put a hand on your shoulder.
Suddenly, the man made up his mind. He looked down and ripped off his gas mask. He didn't look at your group for a second, but then built up the courage. He looked up and locked eyes with yours. It was something you weren't expecting.
You felt your breath hitch in your throat and your heart stopped. Your skin went pale and your blood went cold as you looked at the boy. At first you thought this was a trick, that it couldn't be possible, but no one had the eyebrows like him.
"Hey shank." His voice said, way clearer than before. It was that voice, his voice, that sent a shiver down your spine again. It was like this when you had met him for the first time as well.
"Gally?" You whispered loud enough for everyone to hear. Before you could even process anything, you watched as Thomas clenched his fists. You gently put the little boy on the ground as you watched Thomas nail your brother in the jaw, making Gally drop to the ground. You and Newt ran over to the scene.
You got there first, jumping in front of Gally while Thomas raised his fists. He was about to throw the punch but stopped when you practically got on top of your brother as a shield.
"THOMAS STOP!" You yelled but his fist never lowered. Newt came up and held him back but Thomas fought his grasp, the fire rising inside of him.
"He killed Chuck." Thomas said angrily but Newt held him back farther as the brunette continued to fight him.
"Yeah, I know, I know. I remember, I was there too, alright." Newt reasoned. "I also remember that we was stung and half out of his mind. Just calm down." Thomas was shaking in pure hatred while you couldn't tell why Gally was trembling, you just knew he was. Thomas still wasn't backing down.
"Please." You said, looking the brunette in the eyes. "That's my brother." You pleaded and Thomas's angry glare softened, never seeing you plead like that before.
With a moments hesitation, Thomas pushed off of Gally and backed away. Newt stood by Thomas while you helped Gally to his feet. You and Gally stared at each other again.
That was your brother. The last time you had seen him was when he was lying on the floor with a spear lodged in his chest and he had horrid bludging veins and deep dark dilated eyes. Minho killed him, you watched it happen, how the shuck is this possible. Gally then turned his attention to Thomas.
"Kinda had that coming." Gally said as he rubbed his jaw. "Anybody else? Fry? Newt? (Y/n)?"
"Gally?" You mumbled, still shocked.
"You know this guy hermana?" Jorge asked and you turned to them.
"Yeah." You said. "He's my brother." Jorge looked at you shocked but not ask shocked as Brenda.
"But, (Y/n), you told me those monsters, Greivers I believe, you told me they killed your brother." Brenda said and you looked at Gally who looked back at you.
"Is that what you told them?" He asked.
"That's what I thought had happened." You said flatly but you knew Gally thought differently than you.
"How..." You heard Newt speak up. "How is this possible? We watched you die!"
"No." Gally corrected. "You left me to die. And if we didn't get you when we did, you'd all be dead right now."
"Yeah, I guess your right." You said quietly and then you felt something latch on to your leg. You looked down as saw the little boy clinging on to you tightly. You bent down and grabbed the boy, lifting him into your arms again.
"What the hell are you guys doing here?" Gally asked and you glanced at Newt.
"Minho." The blondie spoke.
"WICKED has him." You clarified. "We need to find a way into the city." Gally looked at each of you individually, then his eyes landed back on you.
"I can help with that. Follow me." Gally said, about to walk off but Thomas spoke up.
"I'm not going anywhere with you." He said matter-of-factly but Gally sighed heavily.
"You don't have to. But if you want to get on the other side of those walls, then I'm your best chance."
You looked down to your feet and then to your group. You jumped slightly when you saw all of them staring at you, waiting for your next move. You stuttered, trying to think of the best move. You glanced back at Gally, and his eyes were genuine. He wanted to help.
Then you thought of Minho and what he might be going through. There was only one goal, save Minho. You weren't going to give up just because Thomas didn't trust Gally. No matter what happened in that Maze, you knew one thing for sure, Gally was still your brother and he did love you. And Minho, he was your best friend. You weren't stopping, not when you were this close.
"Let's go." You told them, holding the little boy tighter in your arms. Thomas put a hand on your shoulder and looked at you seriously.
"You trust him, after everything?" The brunette asked and you looked at him sternly.
"That's still my brother. I have to." You told him as you turned and faced Gally once again. "Lead the way."
