Late Nights & Phone Calls

Trust. That was something that didn't come easy to Elliot. Her trust had been tested numerous times. And every single time it happened she became more closed off. More reserved. More shielded away from others. Less and less of a people person. Hydra was easily  the main benefactor of her trust going up in smoke. Being reduced to ashes.  After her years there with all the false truths and reassuring words, she didn't trust people.

At all.

So when Elliot invited a stranger into her home, it was safe to say she was on edge and paranoid for the first few days. Trusting someone was already difficult as it was, let alone trying to trust a vampire--an original vampire at that.

But a foundation of trust could eventually be built.

And that is what eventually happened between the blonde original vampire and the petite brunette assassin.

It did however take a bit of time for it to happen. The first few days of sharing the apartment was easily the worst. Elliot's paranoia was overwhelming. She was constantly checking over her shoulder and didn't even feel safe in her own home.

Yes, she was the one who offered the blonde refuge, but it didn't mean that she was going to ignore all her past issues and warnings. After about three to four days after being together, Elliot finally stopped glancing over her shoulder at every constant moment, wondering if the blonde was going to try something. That was also when she finally started sharing parts of her day with the blonde and kept conversations about other things. When a week had gone by, Elliot trusted the blonde a lot more than she thought she would. Not as much as she trusted Natasha or her brother, but it was getting there. At least she hoped it would. Roughly a week and half later, both of them were comfortable around each other, Rebekah began to share parts of her history in Mystic Falls and things about her brothers. However, Elliot still didn't talk about her part. Some things she preferred to keep buried.

But not everything can stay in the shadows forever.

Elliot was standing in the hallway of a run down apartment building. A black mask was covering the bottom of her face almost like a muzzle. Black smudges surrounded her eyes. A hollow and distant look in them. They were emotionless. Her hair was tied back into an intricate braid. Black smoke was billowing off of her. Splatters of blood lined the hallway up and down the already stained cream colored walls. Dead bodies were below her, covering the entirety of the patterned gray and navy carpeting. All of them had either slit throats or multiple stab wounds in their chest.
