Percy's POV:

I hear my alarm go off and my hand snaps out to quite it, but the clock gets knocked to the floor.

Rolling out of bed, I grab jeans I wear everyday and pull on a plain shirt.

Half-asleep, I pick up my dark backpack and walk out of my room, and into the kitchen. I set my bag down against the wall.

Scrunching ny nose up, I turn around and I see my stepdad asleep on the couch. I breathe through my mouth.

Yeah, Smelly Gabe fits him.

I shove some mini blueberry muffins into my mouth, then gulp down a glass of water.

I quietly jog into the bathroom, trying not to wake up Gabe. I really don't need a fat old man yelling at me this early in the morning.

I brush my teeth and run into my room checking my clock, which lays next to my mirror. I look and see a tall 17 year old boy stare back at me.

Black hair reaches  the back of his neck. Sea green eyes and tan skin.

I roll my eyes at my reflection and grab my clock and look at the time.

My eyes widen as I realize that I'm late for school. I run out of the door knowing I woke up Gabe on my way out, but it's not like he's going to actually start exercising just to run after me.

I run down the stairs, and out the door of the apartment building. Then I pull my hood over my head and put my hands in my sweater pocket.

As I walk away, I glance back and hope my mom can have at least an hour more of sleep. She is way too good of a person to marry a guy like Gabe. Or have a stupid candy job. Or have a stupid kid like me.

She should be married to some millionaire, not have to work, and have a kid soaring in academics. Somehow, she got stuck with me. And Gabe.

Their relationship really doesnt make sense. Stupid.

I've been living in the same apartment for a year straight, which is a record for me. I usually do something dumb that involves blowing up the school.

True story. I told my chemistry teacher in the beginning of the year it wasn't going to work out, he said it'll be fine. I ended up being right in the end when the school had to evacuate when smoke was coming out of the lab and there was an explosion.

But the past year I've been trying really hard to be good. My mom doesn't have the best job, but it pays best than all her other jobs. And Gabe, of course, won't work.

I have had a job before but not for long because, once again, I usually break stuff and no one wants to hire a clutz who set an entire stove on fire. I was in fact, fired even though I let them know that stoves were supposed to be on fire.

So instead of helping my mom by getting a job, I just failed.

Failing definitely is my specialty.

The closer I get to school, I try to blend in with everyone else. Which is pretty hard for me, because I'll probably do something stupid like trip and fall and get a bloody nose and make a huge scene.

First period with Mr. Krunt. Not much to say about him othrr than he hates me. Mr. Krunt is a tall man probably in his 60s and even though he's tall, he's also fat.

Like weird fat. He's totally skinny and then BAM huge gut.

I squeeze my math book and open Mr. Krunts classroom door.

I look at everyone talking in class. Girls flirting with guys. Guys flirting back and talking about a time when they did something amazing which of course impressed all the girls.
