57. Sneaking Out and Midnight Rendezvous'

He immediately disappeared into thin air as he quietly followed the yellow-eyed kunoichi and the Hyuuga heir.

"Slow down," Hinata exclaimed as she gently grabbed Shizukana's arm.

With a small smile, Shizukana nodded and walked at a slow pace. She held onto Hinata's hand as she feebly dragged Hinata through the Hospital corridors.

It didn't take so long for the duo to reach the 2nd floor and it was Hinata's turn to guide Shizukana.

Softly squeezing Shizukana's hand, she walked towards room 268. She let go of Shizukana's hand and knocked on the door.

A faint 'come in' was heard as Hinata opened the door and stepped in. Shizukana followed her and closed the door behind her.

"Hello, Shino." Shizukana greeted softly, making the Aburame tilt his head in surprise.

"Shizukana, shouldn't you be resting?" Shino asked, making Shizukana wave her hands. Dissatisfied with her response, Shino turned to Hinata, who shrugged.

"I told her to rest, but she persisted." Hinata squeaked. She then grabbed a chair and motioned for Shizukana to sit.

"Alright," Shizukana replied before taking a seat. "How are you feeling?" She asked Shino.

"I will be discharged soon. How do I know that? A doctor just informed me that the discharge papers will be sent in two days." He spoke. Shizukana smiled when Shino explained how he knew he was being discharged.

"That's great." the white-haired kunoichi remarked. "You shouldn't exert yourself. Chairs exhaustion isn't a simple thing," she answered while fiddling with her chakra cuffs.

"You should also rest," Shino spoke. "You shouldn't be walking around unless the doctor says so." He said before pushing his glasses.

"But for therapy, all I've been doing is moving around. Walking a little more won't hurt." Shizukana reasoned, making Shino smile.

"You always have a way of reasoning." He spoke. Hinata nodded from where she was standing.

"So, how did the mission go?" Shizukana asked while changing the subject from herself to Shino and Hinata.

"It was fine. There isn't much to tell." Hinata spoke. "It was a simple C rank mission."

"I'm sure it must have been exciting. Shino got injured, so it couldn't have been simple. The devil's in the details." Shizukana persisted. "Now spill the beans." She said playfully, and Hinata nodded.

"You overestimate me," Shino commented.

"And you underestimate yourself." Shizukana retorted. He opened his mouth to rebut, but not a single word passed through his lips.

He nodded his head. "Touché."

That's how they spent the rest of my evening. The trio kept talking about random things. Hinata spoke freely and Shino kept adding comments when he felt like it.

Shizukana's P.O.V.

It was nice being with Hinata and Shino. It reminded me of the time I was in the academy. We would spend our lunchtime chatting about various things.

Hinata had left the room to get some tea. Shino and I kept talking about a special type of bug his family had found.

We were suddenly interrupted when Hinata burst in through the door. Her eyes were widened in terror and she had turned a bright red.

"Lady Tsunade is on her way to your room." She squeaked, making me share her terrified expression. "I heard her voice on the corridor."

I could walk, but because of safety reasons, I wasn't allowed to go anywhere without permission. Lady Tsunade finding out would mean that I would be on the receiving end of an hour-long lecture on being responsible and thinking about my safety.
