Chapter 26

Osamu hands you a dull knife to cut the cake.

You cut the cake into eight equal slices, and hand them out to each person.

Laughing with everyone, you all enjoyed the peaceful time spent together. The soothing tunes of a jazz song playing in the background as usual brought comfort to all within the small café.

It wasn't long before everyone had to leave, leaving you walking home with Suna, the twins, and Hina.

"So did I do a good job of keeping ya occupied?" Atsumu says, looking at you as the small group walks through the busy streets of the city.

"I'd say you did." You said with a smile.

"It was Suna's idea to pick the café, he said that you find it relaxing since it's rarely crowded." Hina says while smirking at Suna.

Suna blushes while shoving his hands in the pockets of his jacket while turning his face away from you.

You laugh at his reaction while nudging him on his arm.

"Thank you."

He looks down at you and smiles before nodding his head, to nervous to say anything else.

Walking in a comforting arua, you eventually reach your house where Suna and the twins hand you some of the bags you weren't able to carry.

Giving everyone a hug goodbye you wave and yell a 'Thank you' as you enter your house feeling a sense of joy take over your body.

Time: 10:35 PM

"Thank you mom." You say with a yawn as you open the present she gave you.

"No problem, but you should probably go to sleep you seem tired." She says with a smile.

"Yeah."

Giving her a side hug you thank her once again before running upstairs to get ready for bed.

After taking a shower, you put on an oversized black t-shirt that belonged to Suna and some red running shorts.

Satisfied, you jump onto your bed with a little jump as you move to get comfortable.

Turning off your LED lights with your remote, you grab your phone and shuffle your playlist. The song HighRise by LeRoyce begins to play as you go underneath the blankets and clear your mind in order to sleep.

As nothing ran through your mind, you were able to succumb to sleep quicker. Your eyes becoming droopy as they slowly shut, only seeing pure darkness.

Time: 11:07 PM

Fluttering your eyes open, a familiar soothing sensation runs through your body as you adjust to the environment. Slowly standing up, you're quick to realize just where you are.

The place where you've visited more times than you can count, the safe place in your dreams that has helped you through some of your darkest times.

Your body subconsciously started moving as it followed its normal routine while visiting. Passing by the clouds, you admired how they always remained untainted everytime you were here.

The ground was white as you walked towards the familiar white oak tree in the distance.

Reaching the vibrant green grass, you put your bare feet on the soft blades.

Inching your way closer to the tree, you sit upon the busted swing that was always somehow the same every time you went.

Swinging gently, you waited until the oh so familiar voice that you knew spoke.

"Hello."

Smiling, you jump off from the swing and into the arms of the boy.

He chuckles lightly before returning your hug and squeezing you a bit.

"Happy birthday (Y/N)." He says softly.

"Thank you."

"Let's go sit down over there." He says pointing towards a patch of grass surrounded by a few pansies.

Nodding your head, you walk beside him until you reach the patch of purple pansies and take a seat on the grass.

"So did you have fun today?" He asks while laying down in the grass.

"Yup! Atsumu took me to the café and then everyone surprised me by being there." You beamed while looking into the cloudy sky of the dream realm as you go more into detail about your day.

"It sounds like you had fun." He says while sighing. "I wish I could've been there but I'm glad to see you had fun with others."

"Yeah." You say with a sad sigh.

"At least you have Suna." He says.

Looking at him with confusion you see him stand up from the grass. He turns around and faces you.

"It seems our time is up for now." He says while his figure begins to grow foggy as well as the surrounding scenery.

Opening his arms, he gestures for a hug.

Quickly standing up, you jump into his fading arms and hold him tightly.

"I'll miss you for now." You say. Looking up directly at his face, you can see him trying his best to compose himself.

"I know, but don't worry." He says with a reassuring smile.

"I'll be back soon."

Time: 4:28 AM

Slightly waking up, you refused to open your eyes. Recently everytime you had to say goodbye it had gotten a little less painful, but that doesn't mean that it didn't sting.

Feeling sleep creep up again, you squeezed your eyes a bit. A single tear falling down the side of your right eye as you dozed off into the early morning.

-The reason Atsumu showed up late after school in chapter 24 was because he stayed back to talk to Yui, so the reason his face was red was because of running and her.

-Whenever (Y/N) intentionally wants to see her past lover in her dreams, she listens to music. It helps her focus.
