Into the "Unknown"...

Chapter 24: "Just have to wait and Plan"

"Ok don't freak out!" I warn making Chace look confused by my reaction. 

"Chace" My next words come out fast. "Liam remembers and has done form the beginning but all this time he's acted like he doesn't and last night when we dancing he told me he does"  Chace eyes show his emotions, Confused and seriously angry. I look at the trees all tangled ahead of us and close my eyes for a second. "What? Why would he do that!" Chace almost shouts but I can still hear the hurt in his voice. I shake my head as I open my eyes, "because he's a selfish idiot and really I haven't taken the time to ask anymore about it" I say my voice hard. I can tell Chace feels just as hurt yet annoyed as I do. Chace starts to get up but I gran him by the wrist still sitting in my place. He looks at me his eyes questioning. I shake my head. "Chace please let me confront him he won't respond well if you do" I say, I know it's not fair on Chace but I can only imagine what another confrontation with the two boys would lead and I do not want it to go there. Chace gives in to me then sits back down reluctantly. 

"Besides there's more" I say. 

"yesterday when I came to dance with you you probably noticed Joey wans't there" I say starting of. Chace nods "I couldn't care less" he says shrugging honestly. 

"Well actually I do, now" I say. Chace looks at me raising an eyebrow. I shoud have not said it like that.  

"look after we went back to the dance floor yesterday I found Joey looking slightly confused and annoyed and the last thing he said was Your names Hale Aria Hale?" I say my tone just as confused as Joeys when he told me. "And then he just disappeared and toady I couldn't find him anywhere, plus my lockets gone" Chace looks out in to the distance "so you think he took you're locket, and.." he says knowing there's more.

"and he remembers" I say simply. Chace laughs. 

"What?" I say

"It's just as time passes  we keep finding more and more people do remember I mean the question now is how many people don't" Chace says. I nod. 

"Yeah I had the same thought going through my head earlier too" I say. 

"But I think it's just not every ones as lucky as Eleanor and Me we had you and Zayn but some are alone in that case they're either clever and manage to hide it or just can't take it and get themselves in trouble by exposing themselves" I say thinking of Hanna and Camilla. 

"But Liam..." I say my voice braking a little at his name. 

Chace grabs his arm around me and pulls me towards him, I let my head rest on his shoulder. We sit in silence for a while with one last thing to tell him. 

"Well you actually did know someone who did remember quite early on" I say wondering what his reaction will be. 

"What do you mean" He says. 

"Jake" I say looking up at Chace lifting my head of his shoulder. I see him fidget a little. 

"Are you blushing" I say shocked that's not the usual Chace I know. 

"No!" Chace says defensively. 

"You are! Ok tell me why you didn't tell me or the others why you don't know about Jake?" I ask curious. "Look when you first came here Jake knew I liked you and I thought he did too so when we talked he told me about this girl Camilla and you only reminded him of her but didn't like you like that" 

"So we must be the only people he told about Camilla" I say.

Chace shakes his head. "No he's probably told you more he only told me she was this girl he really liked in his first year" He says simply, then adds, "I didn't bother asking too much" I nod my head. Then smile at the other things Chace had just told me. 

"Hold on you liked me from the beginning?" I ask unable to hide my smile. Chace nods truthfully. 

"You?" He asks. 

I laugh. "Well yeah but you know you're my best friends older brother I have known you since i was like 5 but suddenly liking you like this was weird for me, it took me a long time to admit it to myself let alone anyone else" I say truthfully. Chace smiles 

"Don't worry I sort of get it" Chace says. There's another silence and I smirk. 

"You were Jealous weren't you!" I say thinking back too all those times with Joey and then right at the beginning when I spent a lot of time with Jake and Chace didn't like him.

"Yeah but you were too of Lucy" Chace says clearly embarrased. 

"Hey, you didn't like the poor girl at all I saw you looking my way every now and then when you were dancing" I say. 

"That means you were looking at me too" chace says also smirking. I laugh. "Besides you did look hot" Chace adds making me blush. 

"So did you" I say honestly. 

"Chace there's more about Jake" I say. Chace raises an eyebrow.

"More" I nod, then explain how Jake might be able to help us. Once I'm done Chace let's out a low whistle. "Well I think we might have just found a key to some of our questions, but why didn't he tell us this before?" Chace asks wondering. I shrug 

"Maybe he just needed to be sure he can trust us" I suggest. 

"Maybe" Chace says not convinced. I get up and brush the mud of my jeans. 

"I think we should head back and tell the others" I say. Chace nods and we both get up.

When I open the door Zayn laughs, "In come the love birds" Zayn says. 

Chace groans, "Give it a rest Zayn" he says but his smile contradicts it. 

I laugh "...and you and Eleanor?" I say teasing. 

"What about us?" Zayn asks his face innocent. Chace rolls his eyes. 

"Eleanor do you know where my locket is?" I ask. 

She shakes her head "No why?" She asks. I turn to look at Chace standing behind me and we exchange the same knowing look. I walk over and sit on my bed. Chace sits on the sofa. 

"Well Arias found a way we might be able to get some answers" Chace says.

Chace and I explain everything I told him earlier. I leave out details about Camilla, it's a secret Jake trusted me with I'm not going to break it. When we're done Eleanor leans back her face thoughtful.

"So what are we going to do now" She asks. 

"Just have wait and plan" Chace says.
