Chapter 21: "Actually No"

The next few weeks go as a blur.

Eleanors been spending a lot of time with Zayn but neither of them seem to have the courage to make a move but it's only a matter of time. Clary is still going out with drake and now we hardly ever spend time together except in Natural arts class, So most of my time has been spent with Jake. On the other hand Chace seems to be having some really weird mood swings with me, Zayn and Eleanor he's his usual self and surprisingly gets along with Jake now but Joey really seems to get on his nerves. Honestly I think Joey knows that and gets a thrill out of it so whenever he gets a chance he comes over and talks to me, at first I thought he was a total idiot but there's more to him than that. Now we have been here for nearly 3 months yet the longer we stay here the more questions arise. We have been trying to think of ways to find about the foods and the effect on our memory but what do we get? Nothing.

After lessons on Monday I head outside where I find Chace, Zayn and Austin sitting on the sand near the sea as usual. "hey guys" I say sitting on the sand. They all reply and but don't resume their conversation instead they all look from me to chace. I narrow my eyes looking at Austin and chace. "What?" I ask. They shake their heads. I raise my eyebrow at Zayn knowing he'll tell me.

"Well it's november" he says.

"Well done Zayn you remember the month" I say sarcastically. He looks like he's going to continue eventually but as always Eleanor comes running down to us all excited and waving a A4 poster in the air. I laugh it's like this most weeks we're all sitting having a normal condition then Eleanor comes later running with a little announcement. "Guys guess what? We're going o have a dance!" She exclaims looking excited and to be honest I quite like the idea myself.

"They have Dances here?" I ask. The others look at me slightly confused.

"You didn't see the posters dotted around in all the compounds today?" Chace asks.

"Well yeah but I assumed it was the usual boring announcements" I say.

"Well anyway yeah they even have dances in this place but this is the biggest of them all as it's like a celebration of being here, since they opened this place up for us special people" Chace says rolling his eyes.

"Well...I can't say I particularly like the idea behind it but It'll be fun" I say smiling

"Yup it is they go all out with dances here last year there was a winter wonderland theme and there was indoor ice and everything" Zayn says thinking back.

"when is it?" I ask looking at Elenaor.

"The 15th of this month" She says.

"My birthday I must say it's an odd coincidence" I say as the others look at me looking even more excited.

"Then Aria your best friends will just have to think of ways to make it extra special for you" Eleanor says smiling while I'm sure I catch Zayn wink at Chace then narrowing his eyes to me. I don't look to see Chaces reaction but feel myself blush.

"You really don't have to..." I say looking at them.

Chace just shrugs "You know we have to" He says and I can tell by his expression his mind is on something else.

Austin clears his throat and we all turn to him. "We can take dates right?" He doesn't really say it as a question.

"Well yeah" Zayn says as if it's the most obvious thing ever as he casually takes a sip form his water.

"Well then I might as well get mine over and done with" He says and I see his eyes flick to Eleanor I shake my head knowing whats to come.

"Eleanor do you want to be my date for the Dance?" He asks grinning. I shrink in to the sand a little wondering if I feel as awkward as Eleanor but once I see her face I know she's going through much worse. Her entire face falls, her cheeks bright red clearly lost for words and not in a good way. Zayn however has the biggest reaction and spits his drink out of his mouth letting it spray everywhere. Chace looks at me suppressing his laugh I hit him on the arm warning him not to make the situation any worse. "Austin I love you and everything but like a brother seriously you have no idea..." She starts of as we all share the same thought, No he really has no idea "but" She continues but instead Austin cuts her of looking rather annoyed.
