y/n's alarm clock was blaring in her ears. she jumped up with a start, another sleepless night causing her to be left with circles under her eyes and a sag in her steps. even though she felt like shit, she hurled her body out of bed

and into her small closet. dressing in her uniform, she remember the event taking place in the office today.

shit. the newest android prototype would be coming along on cases relating to deviancy with her, along with her superior, hank anderson. she was already were out-testosteroned, but having an android probably wouldn't help. even though the plan could go very wrong, she couldn't help but be a little excited. maybe it would be nice. maybe they could be friends. another thought crossed though her mind, squashing her excitement. 'oh right,' y/n thought 'gavin reed will kill that poor thing.'

she set down her cat, andromeda, and placed a bowl of food in front of him. she gave the tortoiseshell cat a kiss and pat on the head, and then waltzed out of her quaint apartment. her appartment wasn't far from the police station, so she walked there, seeing today's weather was a rare beauty for the usually overcast city. she still had 20 minutes to kill before her shift began. she made her way over to the local coffee shop and grabbed an iced drink, seeing that the weather was in her favor on this monday.

walking across the street and into the building, she took a deep breath to hopefully prepare herself for the day to come.

she picked up her phone to briefly check an email, and somehow, in that time, she was met with a firm chest. her drink left her hand but was caught gracefully by the owner of said chest. stumbling back a foot or two, she looked up and scanned the face before her. handsome was the first word to come to mind. his brown eyes were warm but determined, and his sculpted face was dotted with freckles. she looked up at his forehead, and suddenly his expert reflexes made sense. an android.

"hello! my name is connor, i am the android sent by cyberlife." somewhere in the distance you heard gavin reed groaning. "its nice to meet you connor!" she maintained eye contact with the andriod, and tried not to let herself become flustered or impolite. "my name is-" "detective l/n. yes, i have heard a fair bit about you." he a voice behind her alerted her of a new presence.

"god, get a room you two!" hank groggily called out to the pair. "hank!" "lieutenant anderson!" they both cried at once. "wow connor. im surprised you even know what that expression means," hank gruffly stated. "well, i am not unknowing of human expressions and tendancies. i could also tell by the expression on y/n's face, and the increase in her heartbeat that she was flustered by the action."

"jesus... what do they put in these things..." she mumbled and shot her gaze to the tiled floor. she knew these things were smart, but it is much more jarring to have them say it to your face. "i am made of several biocomponents and thirium. i appreciate your curiosity into the construction of androids!" connor chirped excitedly.

y/n made a face crossed in between a smile and a grimace. she knew that she would have to spend many late nights with the thing, but she intended to keep her distance from it.

y/n stepped away from the group and made her way to her desk. she sipped on her drink and look at the stack of paperwork to fill out. she continued on with filing paperwork and collecting various signatures. the girl proceeded to lose herself in her work, and before she knew it the day had lost itself and dusk emerged onto the city. the hard-working woman was used to exhausting nights of overtime, and decided to venture to the kitchen to grab some caffeine.

leaning on the counter, y/n waited for the water to warm enough to create a drink. a glance at the clock revealed an hour that unearthed a groan from her thoat. she grabbed a file from the counter and continued researching androids and deviants.

she then felt a presence looking over her shoulder. you decided to ignore it. she attempted to look like she was reading a paragraph. y/n felt a tap on her shoulder.

"detective l/n, i am sorry to interrupt, but there has been a homicide at 5109 dublin street. (CHANGE WHEN ACTUAL ADDY IS FOUND) we need to get to work." the robot said sternly. y/n remained polite, but found herself internally rolling her eyes. 'please. just one calm day.' the detective begged to whatever god decided to listen in.

the female detective moved from the kitchen and saw hank point at her and make a nonsensical motion towards the door. she follow the man out the door and search for his car. finding it parked just too close to the new interns car... poor kid. she steps to get into the passengers seat when she yet again bumps into connor. it looks at her and something of an apoligetic look graces the angular features. he goes to speak, "sorry, detective. i'll keep to the backseat."
