"iris, c'mon, take a look at your new room!"
i said as she ran toward me.

"it's so big!"
she exclaimed, clapping in excitement.

"i know.. your dad and i's room is even bigger, can you imagine?"
i said returning the same exciting energy.

"but where's the baby gonna sleep, mami?"
she asked pointing at my stomach.

"i'm not sure yet.. maybe he'll sleep with you."
i sighed.

"i'm sure you'll be a great, responsible older sister to him though, isn't that right?"

she nodded, giggling.

"you get that exact same shine in your eyes like your father. you sure are a lot brighter than him though, that's for sure—"

"oh wow!"
usnavi gasped dramatically as he entered the empty living room carrying a box.

"don't act surprised! you remember the story he told you about that night at the club?"
i asked iris, laughing.

"yeah! he tried to make you jealous."
she snickered.

"did not!"
usnavi denied.

"did too!"
iris insisted.

"come on , you two. gotta start unpacking."
