Today Adam and I were finding out the gender of the baby. I also asked Jackson and April to be there but Jackson was busy at work so it would be just April meeting us. I was driving us to the clinic and Adam couldn't be more excited. "Y/n, this is all working out perfectly for us! We're gonna have our baby and I can still do hockey then go to college to be a lawyer, and you can still go to college to be a...whatever you wanna be. And still have our baby waiting for us back home!" I chuckle and shake my head as he goes on and on about how excited he is. "It's bot gonna be our baby. We won't be parenting it. It's not gonna be the same." I look at him and it looks like I just crushed his hopes and dreams. "W-well you know what I mean..."
We get to the clinic and we get out, walking into the clinic. "Hey guys!" April shoots up from her seat in the waiting room and hugs us. "Im gonna check in." I say and leave April and Adam to talk.
I come back and someone is already calling my name. We go back into a room. It was so cold in there, but I loved it.
"Is this mom and babies dad?" She asks sitting down putting on gloves. "N-" I start but April cute me off. "Yes" she grabs my hand and I give her a big smile. I loved her, she was great to me. "Alright Ms Dawson, ready?" She pulls on her latex gloves. "Mhm" I smile and she puts the cool blue jelly on my tummy. "Aaaall right. You hear that? That's the babies heartbeat!" Me Adam, and April all smile at each other. "Want to know the sex?" She asks and we all reply at the same time, "Yes" she laughs. "It's a....boy!" Adam squeezed my hand. He really wanted a boy.
