She sat in the passenger seat of his car cursing herself for ever letting the idea enter her head. What was she thinking? She took deep breaths and closed her eyes. Trent only looked at her weirdly before he asked what was wrong. And Jordyn told him everything in that moment, everything except for the traumatising childhood of course.

"Jordyn.. trsut me, just knock on that door, you'll feel much better after"

Jordyn shook her head aggressively, already feeling herself choke on the tears on the way. Trent unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned over, pulling her into his arms and rubbing her back as she buried her face into the crook of his neck. She didn't shed any tears but she definitely needed that hug after all that's happened. Trent couldn't help but think, this was their first real hug, none of them side hugs or greeting hugs, this was a real hug.

"I'm right by your side" he said and watched as she lifted her hand up to ring the doorbell.

An older man opened the door, with raised eyebrows and a kitchen towel rested on his shoulder. He blinked a few times and glanced at Jordyn.

"Hi" she said quietly.

"Jordyn, Trent" he grumbled, letting her know that he hadn't forgotten yet but smiled at Trent.

"Granddad" she pursed her lips, he turned on his heel, leaving the door open and returned back to the kitchen.

Jordyn and Trent exchanged a look a smile she walked in with a sigh, making sure to leave her shoes at the door, Trent following shortly after. They entered the kitchen and her granddad placed two plates of carbonara in front of them.

"Thank you" Trent smiled, happy that he finally got his dinner after the game.

"Don't mention it" He smiled, sitting down in front of them, on the other side of the table "so are you two together. Is that why you decided to finally drop by? To introduce me to your new boyfriend?"

"No, we're not together grandpa, I have a boyfriend" She rolled her eyes, twirling her fork in the middle of the plate.

"Is this some sort of apology then; bringing a liverpool player under my roof?" He asked casually, chewing on the pasta.

"No, he's my friend, I just came by to apologize" she mumbled quietly, looking anywhere but at him.

"It's alright, I know that it is physically impossible for you to apologize" He smiled sweetly, causing a smile on Trent's face.

"That's not true, I'm being serious!"

"Alright then lets heard it" He paused in the middle of his chewing, urging her to go on. Jordyn cleared her throat, and apologized, she watched as he went back to chewing his food.

"Okay, how's school going?"

Jordyn breathed out, "it's going well, I'm graduation soon actually" she replied, chewing on the carbonara he made.

Trent watched the exchange between them in confusion, Jordyn had told him that they had gone a whole year without talking to one another yet they seemed to have just picked dip where they left off.

Shrugging, he finished his plate and thanked the older man who nodded his head. "Right, you two take the dishes then, I'll be watching my show" He smiled tightly, making his way to the living room.

Jordyn only rolled her eyes and started on the dishes, Trent stood next to her, drying the clean plates with a towel and putting them back in their places around the small kitchen. When they were done, Jordyn rushed up the stairs to go to the bathroom (the one downstairs was under renovating). Trent sat down on the sofa next to her grandfather, whose name he had learned was Will.

Will motioned for him to come closer and pulled out a photo album from under the glass coffee table "Wanna look through them with me?" Trent nodded his head and watched as he opened up to the first page of the thick album.

The pages were turning a bit yellowish around the corners, but the pictures had been kept well and was unfazed through time. He smiled softly and looked won at the first few pictures "We made this photo album for Jordyn to look back at, I couldn't help but add a picture of only her" He pointed to the love of his life.

They looked through the album, laughing at embarrassing photos of her, not even realising that Jordyn had been gone for quite a long time.

"That's Jordyn's first game, we travelled all the way down to London to watch her play, this was way before her father started drinking.. that twat" He spit the last word out like venom.

"She's so cute" Trent smiled, showing his smile lines at little Jordyn who wore a football kit way too big for her. He raised his eyebrows at the bit of her father drinking, but decided to let Jordyn tell him if she wanted to.

"You know, I see the way you look at her" He suddenly said, causing Trent's heart to skip a beat "You look at her the same way I used to look at me Jess" Will looked down at the pictures again, his liverpool accent matching Trent's "whoever she's with doesn't seem to be doing a great job at keeping her interested"

"If only you knew" Trent sighed.

"Hey gramps, can I keep this?" Jordyn appeared at the bottom of the stairs, holding up a liverpool scarf. Will looked at his granddaughter in astonishment. It was the old scarf he used to wrap around Jessica whenever she would get cold when watching liverpool play in Anfield.

Before they left Jordyn had told him to go to the car while she had a proper heart to heart conversation with her granddad. After a few moments she walked out happier than ever. She entered the the car and fastened on her seatbelt.

Trent tilted his head a bit down, staring at her with a grin.

"What?" she asked with a chuckle, staring out the window again, the lfc scarf hung loosely from her neck.
